Forums - Nintendo - Is anyone else dissapointed by the Zelda announcment?

Ok I know I'm stepping into a world of hurt here, but I do not see how this is "good news."

We we're all expecting a new Zelda game, however a Home console game, not a DS game...and one that imo looks down right horrible. I can honestly not see how everyone else think it looks good. I honestly truely think that if this game had someone else other then Link and the title of Zelda in it's name it would be considered shovelware garbage.

I know graphics aren't the thing with most nintendo people atm, and I understand that this is a DS not a super computer, but my god.....it looks like crap. It seriosly looks like mumbled garbage, I expect a lot more then this from a main nintedo game. The gameplay does not look at all intriguing to me and from the trailer it looks like im gonna got extremely bored of the same poor qaulity dungeon texture copy over and over again.

Sigh...look, im really not trying to troll here if that's what some of you guys are gonna try stabbing at. I love Zelda, and i just am not liking this game so far at all. I would be happier if it was still sprites like in 4 swords, cause right now it really really looks horrid, and looks like it will play horrid as well.

CURRENTLY PLAYING:  Warframe, Witcher 2

If you was expecting something big like Zelda Wii at GDC your expectations were too high.

Have you played Phantom Hourglass? If you liked that then you will like this i reckon.

No, it looks like Phantom Hourglass and that was great. Zelda is Zelda no matter what

Not me anyway.

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

Have to disagree with you, and if you call it flaming, I laugh at you :P.

It looked better than Phantom Hourglass, and that was a kickass game.

And using unintelligent criticism (aka bashing), does make you sound like a troll.

I really enjoyed every Zelda game i played. this one looks like PH and that was my 2nd favourite game on DS (the 1st was Mario and Luigi partners in time)

Phantom Hourglass was liked a lot more then the Wii/GC zelda, so follow up to hourglass and not to the twilight first makes sense to me.

but i am a little unsure of the train thing but i will wait till i see more till i make up my mind.

Umm I think your full of it..

I expected a DS Zelda game, don't know why people are suprised...

I think the reason people are loving this so much is because they've already played Phantom Hourglass. They know what it's like, any reason to be skeptical has long since passed (for most of us). If you hated Phantom Hourglass, well, then I can see if you're disappointed. But this is a sequel to a critically acclaimed, commercially successful, and very much loved game for the DS. There's no reason to not be hyped, unless you were one of the few who hated the first one.
