So whats a good way to do it? There is this girl I like, and I am certain that she likes me. Also, one of my friends is dating/going out with her best friend, so if he asks the girls best friend, we could all go to the prom as a group.

The problem is, I don't know when to ask her. I can't get her alone. After school when I talk to her there aren't that many people, but a couple of my friends talk with her after school so I am kind of afraid to ask her becuase it might put her on the spot, and if she says no my friends would make fun of me for a week becuase they would have been right there.

Should I man up and ask her then anyway? Should I call her at home, or send her a message on facebook? Or send her a card? What should I do. I am worried I am running out of time, I don't want someone else to ask her!

"Hey, wanna go to the prom with me?"

What's so hard about it?

1) In person is best.

2) Phone is OK

3) Card is so middle school-ish. What are you going to do, write "do you like me?" and have a "yes" and "no" box for her to check?

I understand this man, my advice to ask to meet her later ahead of time, that worked for me

Say to her you want to talk to her in private about something important. If you are sure she likes you , then I see no reason not to. The worst she can say is no. Besides, Think how happy you'll be if she says yes. I say go for it

Do you think asking after school in a semi-deserted hallway with 1-2 other friends besides her with me is a good idea, or is it better to call on the phone? I have never called her before; I have know her for almost 2 years but have always talked with her at school or after school activites...

Call her "hey, you can meet me up at now/tomorrow at ..." add please or something like that and just ask.

best to ask while she's by herself. Otherwise you'd be putting her on the spot if you ask in front of her friends.
