ah, i supposed i had to spell out that it was meant to be funny.

Around the Network

damn, i nearly pissed myself, haven't seen that promo with the voice over before... what a joke, add it to the list of things that make me ashamed to be an american... what's more pathetic is that there are actually plenty of people that will get one.

@rendo you're a 1000% wrong about it bombing. in '97 i was installing $30,000 home automation systems with $45,000 theater rooms at the rate of 3 a month in dallas, tx, and that's not even silicon valley... MS didn't make it for you and me...

that was funny. I like the wii fit one too.

I actually can't wait for this to hit. It will completely replace monitor/keyboard/mouse on all pc's. It will be da bomb, not bomb. Think about it, going to eat dinner someplace. Just sit down menus on the table, scan for what you want. pick it. few minutes later wait staff brings drinks/appetizers/food. When you're ready to pay, no need to flag down the busy wait staff. Just put your cc on the table, select the items you're paying for, friends select theirs, simple done. No more "I'll pay with my card you guys get next time or give me cash."

I would love this kind of input device to do my work. virtual keyboard, ultimate drag and drop coding. This is seriously gonna rock.

And for those that just hate MS, it wasn't invented my MS, they just bought the patent. Search google for MS Surface or surface computer to see videos of its original premier.

sorry superchunk, i doubt this will be a constant in your world any time soon... unless you have an assload of cash in your mattress or frequent Four Season resorts. this won't touch common market for 15+ years.

Nah, it wont take 15 years...I bet we see it in the 2000k range as just a user interface, no embedded computer, in 2 years.

it's a nice computer. just a matter of time before these kind of things become commonplace.

hmm, maybe it's things like these that keeps MS in business. obviously, you need commercial software to support all the applications that comes with it, so MS will still be making software for years to come. though at this rate, they won't be the behemoth they are today.

the Wii is an epidemic.

Heh, probably the funniest thing I've seen today. Then again I woke up 20 minutes ago, but this already tops today's Smash Bros. Dojo and Angry Video Game Nerd's new trailer. =P

you are very optimistic to say the least... i installed systems that you could enter the garage, tell the HOUSE "evening" and it would light up a succession of lights at 30% from your garage to the master bedroom, while leaving the option to say "kids"(among other things) to give you a path to their room, then turning off those lights slowly, just leaving your bedlamps on. you only said the word "evening", and your home did all the work, then upon telling your house "goodnight" your bedlamps go off and all motion detectors, infared, and cctv systems inside and out come on... that was only 11 yrs ago, you got one of those nifty systems in your home? didn't think so... this is 10 zarking THOUSAND dollars, mass market 10 yrs soonest. sorry, no, not for you, unless your a wallstreet tycoon, etc, in disguise.

LMFAO. I have to say that the surface this was better than Wii Fit.

Actually, i find it hard to believe that Surface would make it to peoples homes, but in professional use it sounds like something that is going to be a hit.
