360 doing exactly as I thought I'd do. However I'm most surprised at the jump for DS. I mean what happened. Did I miss something haha. PS3 may come to a leveling point around Wii's 20k which may leave us at a dead tie for weekly console dominance for awhile.

Interesting market with lots of radical changes lately but back to more of the same at the extremes. DS on top and 360 on the bottom.

I believe both DSi and PSP got some new colors? Not sure about DSi.

But it did also get a good first week out of Super Robot Wars (Over 100k).

that would be correct. New DSi and PSP colours this week

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st

wtf the ps2 outsold the 360.

i doubt they will hit another million there.

low 360 sale, possible supply shortage for ms in japan

Yeah, I called the PS3 beating for the Wii for 4 weeks, I was spot on. I'm calling a virtual tie next week for the Wii and PS3, since there's nothing notable being released today in Japan (Haruhi for the Wii, but the previous one sold poorly, although this one is a proper game), or the Wii edging PS3 by 1 -2k.

Bets with Conegamer:

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

As far as I know, the 360 doesn't have a single upcoming exclusive announced for Japan. If that doesn't change, weekly sales will fall even lower than they are now.

At least no games for the Japanese audience.

Bokal - Do you think a company bases their decisions off of 1 week of sales data?

Sony is still 'doomed' in Japan since there's a 4 million + unit gap in the country, and Sony hasn't managed to close the gap very quickly. Even if Sony kept outselling the Wii at the pace it has this entire year....Well, it'd never happen, because the Wii is still beating the PS3 on the year. The PS3 is certainly better off in terms of marketshare this year than it was last year. However, that doesn't change the fact that the Wii is still the lead console in Japan, and elsewhere, while the PS3 is still in 3rd place in both PAL and NA territories.

Not what I meant. If you read well what I wrote, I said they (JRPG devs) should have gone all the way to the Wii. Then, when the PS3 starts having a decent userbase in japan, they should should have switched to the PS3, if they want to do HD.

My only point is that they should have avoided the 360.

JRPGs on 360 have been a success for MS, not for JRPGs.

They will know Helgan belongs to Helghasts

PS2 you are amazing!!!!!

Waiting On GT7!!!

There will be a new Arcade Model in Japan ( with HDMI and Built-in 256 MB storage capacity ) for about $200, release-date is March 29th.
Maybe that explains the drop ( people waiting for that new model ).
If so, we should see a bump in sales-data in the week of April 4th.

Update: seems its release-date is pushed back a bit to April 5th
