Got em both. both great. score em both a 10

Around the Network

i really like bioshock but just wondering has anyone played system shock 2 and since bioshocks essentially a sequel to it how much different is it, from reviews ive read it sounds exactly the same but in space.

Bioschock is great and I played System Shock 2. I would not say they are the same but you can see it is from the same developpers.

If you don't play both you fail at life and video games.

On a less mean note, I expect them to equalize some with Bioshock on top by a bit as well.

Just my personal preference but it seems redundant for them to list the PC and Xbox versions on both. They should put up individual versions only if they're significantly different. I guess I just want to see more variety in the top 10!

Plus, as long as bioshock is below mario 64 than I'm satisfied solely because SM64 was such a revolutionary game.

But I agree that metroid 3 will not make this list, too many people reviewed it critically as another sequel rather than judge it for what it is. The same problem existed for Zelda:TP. It beats OOT in about every scope except that it came out so much later and that the standards have changed since then. To a degree thats a valid argument because over time the games get better and what may stand out a year or 2 ago becomes another game in a crowd.

So is bioshock, quite the game, in my top 5 of all time no doubt, it deserves to be up there with sm64

With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

Game trailers-Halo 3 only dissapointed the people who wanted to be dissapointed.

Bet with Harvey Birdman that Lost Odyssey will sell more then Blue dragon did.

I think buying both games is the only way a person can really win this argument. Both games are alot of fun, and sales are not indicitive of quality. I mean year after year Cabellas Deer Hunt is one of the top selling games and it is horrid. Are we finally to that Utopia where a person can own all the competing consoles and enjoy them each for their differences? I am about 1000 bucks short but it's a nice dream.

Bioshock gets a better score strictly because it is a new game all together, take MP1 for example compared to Bioshock.

Very good point, and a good reason why Metroid#1 will be in the top 10 - but MP3 won't.

You sort of wonder how "fair" that is - a sequel could be a lot better (improvements), yet still be marked harsher.

Now if only MP1/MP2 got remade for the Wii...

I think it is completely fair to include it being a sequel in the equation.  If the sequel brings nothing new to the table then it deserves to get dinged.  Bioshock scored so well because it was great on so many levels -- graphics, art design, innovation, atmosphere, presentation, controls, etc. etc. etc.  MP3 seems to be enough of a departure from MP1 and MP2 (at least from the little bit I've seen and played) that it stands on it's own two feet just fine.

I hate trolls.

Systems I currently own:  360, PS3, Wii, DS Lite (2)
Systems I've owned: PS2, PS1, Dreamcast, Saturn, 3DO, Genesis, Gamecube, N64, SNES, NES, GBA, GB, C64, Amiga, Atari 2600 and 5200, Sega Game Gear, Vectrex, Intellivision, Pong.  Yes, Pong.

Well, I agree Bioshock is a great game, but I take issue with it getting 10s.  It's not perfect.  There are certainly flaws.  The glaring ones are: repetitive enemies, too easy, vita chambers, and a game breaking bug that can completely stop you from advancing.  These might be relaitvely small complaints considering how amazing the rest of the game is, but they are complaints nonetheless.  Unless you can find absolutely NOTHING to complain about, the game does not deserve a 10.

Im just curious you think metroid deserves a 10? What i mean by that is what major flaws do you see in it, i know bioshock had

Lack of enemies, sometimes the same types got a little old, still really fun but the more you played it slowly went a little down

To easy with Chambers

few other minor things

And i agree with you no game actually in history deserves a 10, but i agree with 10 scores because they give those scores in regognition of great games, they give it to games they want to stand out and people say "wow must be a great game" and thats why i sometimes agree with 10/10

No game is perfect, but if its on the lvl of bioshock, Z OoT, Sm64 etc, doesnt it deserve to be recognized?
