so to give you a definite answer, I'd prefer ones with online multiplayer, whether they're short or long campaigns.

wel online is replay value in many ways too ^^

I remember that in an interview with SEGA, they said that they added the werehogs levels because otherwise the game (Sonic unleashed) would be only 4 hours.

Honestly, I'd preferred a 4-hour game with lot of replay (like the old sonic games) instead of a long and boring one.

Length as long as its a quality game.

Don't Worry.....Be Happy

Short games with long replay value, definitely.

Some games just don't finish sometimes! Last example I have in my mind is Tales of Vesperia.

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

Short with long replay value. Is not that I don't like long games, but right now I just don't have enough time to finish them. I haven't finished Twilight Princess for that reason. But I like to play Ninja Gaiden on Virtual console, Megaman 9, etc over and over again because they are short games and I have a blast with them. Thank god Madworld and Deadly Creatures are short games.

Long.

And for the record... I'd say MGS is medium length and Highly replayable. That's how it's always been for me and MGS2, 3 and 4 anyway. I haven't played the first.

4 ≈ One

Oh, stop it, KylieDog. The general accepted definition of replay value does include multiplayer, which makes Wii Sports one of the most eminently replayable games of all time. House of the Dead gets it for the same reason, and RE4 gets it for multiple difficulties, unlockable weapons, two different Ada side missions, and Mercenary Mode. They're all excellent examples of highly replayable games.

And me? It doesn't matter. I'll take either one, so long as the experience is good.

But then I've completed Ocarina of Time a bunch of times, so I'm not a good person to ask.

Replay just means "to play a game again". It does not specify playing through a game's campaign mode multiple times, and even if it did, under that reasoning no replay that introduces new elements would be a replay anyway, so taking multiple paths isn't an example of replay value either. You can't have that reasoning both ways.

More, the argument doesn't change the accepted meaning of replay value, which does define the word, and does include multiplayer. Your opinion on what it should include has no bearing on that.

And yes, I'm going to ignore it, because it hinges on the idea that I'm supposed to care about those things instead of, say, sitting down with my dad and shooting zombies a bunch.

Does that mean you concede to my other points? Because I will freely accept that.

Yeah, you should probably be paying most of your attention for the post to the second paragraph. You don't get to decide what replay values means.
