If I do, you will just debate each one and give YOUR OPINIONS on why they are not better.
Look, there are two ways I could argue that other RPG's are better:

1) My opinion
2) Reviews

If I do the first, we'll just argue, it will be opinion vs. opinion which means a retarded argument where we both just get angry and defensive and prove nothing. Judging from the zeal in your first post, you won't accept higher reviews as a qualifier for another RPG being better than Xenogears either.

I purposefully did not name any specific games for these reasons.

Guess i'll name a game from the PS1 era, ... hmm i dunno maybe... Final Fantasy VII?

terranigma has the best story in any game adn gameplay wise there are many superior RPGs out there

What the hell am i thinking, Final Fantasy 7 sure is better... but Suikoden 2 blows both out of the water.

Xenogears is Awesome and In the PS1 era from what I've played so far its certainly in the Top 3, With only FFVII taking the top and that was because of it being one of my first JRPG experience. Overall its in the top 5/10

2. Kingdom Hearts
3. Persona 4
4. Persona 3 FES
5. Xenogears

Planescape: Torment, not only has the RPG story best ever, but also the greatest story in videogame history. It was even compared to literary pieces because of it's wonderful writing and uncanny depth for a videogame.

My favorite RPG's are as follow:

3. Tales of Symphonia
4. Chrono Trigger
5. SMRPG
6. FFVII

The op is right xenogears is the best rpg ever made,

name other rpg that has nietzsche and freudian concepts aplied to its story

the soundtrack is near perfect,and has an original and fun battle system
technically speaking none other rpg comes close,but opinions are opinions right!!
