i'm a huge anime fan, but i've being avoiding death note cause to me it seems as one of those other mindless-highly advertised-shonen that are so popular in the americas(dragon ball, naruto, bleach, one piece, inuyasha), so is the story deep enough and is the animation of great quality or is it like those others i mentioned.

Watch it.

It's quite the opposite of mindless....

Death Note is one of my favorite animes... you should definitely check it out.

"The series centers on Light Yagami, a high school student who discovers a supernatural notebook, the titular "Death Note", dropped on Earth by a Shinigami (death god) named Ryuk. The Death Note grants its user the ability to kill anyone whose face they have seen, by writing the victim's name in the notebook with a picture of the victim in his mind, due to that there is the possibility of several people having the same name. The story follows Light's attempt to create and rule a world cleansed of evil using the notebook, and the complex conflict between him and his opponents."

I think this description already says a lot about this. It's not a mindless story. It's a psychological battle and very interesting. You always keep wondering. It has amazing twists and clever situations. Keeps you in suspense.

I was watching and reading it before it became popular, so no I'm not one of those people who followed after because everyone else is watching it... I found it very good. One of my favorite anime/manga. Watch a few episodes... It's pretty much good from the start, imo, doesn't take long to get into it. So you'll know early on if you like it. So I hope that convince you to at least give it a try...

Death Note is super, its realy good and thought provoking, id give it 9/10

Death Note was.... ok. It wasn't bad (at least through the first half) and in fact could be considered good. But I would have to give it a 3/5 stars to be honest. The second half... meh, I stopped watching it.

I'm a death note fanboy however some really annoying stuff u will go through -they were not annoying for me-
the music is the best, characters are awesome however i still believe that the show is stretched, they could've made it of 25 episodes instead of 37.

Watch it, the end is disappointing, but it's a very good anime. The first 12 episodes are amazing
