70K for Star Ocean. It has a good chance of reaching 300,000 in the US.

Not a 360 fanboy, just a PS3 fanboy hater that likes putting them in their place ^.^

Not much of a difference between a few thousand. Did any of the rpgs on 360 have weaker debuts?

In the US for the first week? That's the second biggest opening JRPG after Lost Odyssey's 100k.

Looks like SO4 may have been undertracked, slightly. That'd put it around 65,000 or so (Max, if it was 60k, why didn't they put

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Oh, shin, here are a few numbers that NPD has (slowly) given out about various X360 openings:

Blue Dragon: ~53,600 (http://www.thesimexchange.com/blogpost.php?post_id=402)
Tales of Vesperia: ~33,000
Lost Odyssey: 203,600 (http://www.thesimexchange.com/blogpost.php?post_id=482) - 3 weeks, AFAIK

So SO4 is definately well situated in the #2 spot for best JRPG debuts on the 360. Again, we have no info from the PS2 generation for NPD #s, so it's hard to ask if JRPGs have massive legs in America, and what SO3's debut was in the West.

Oh, here we go:

http://www.videobusiness.com/index.asp?layout=marketData&content=topgamesellers&chartdate=9%2F30%2F2004&Submit=Go

Star Ocean 3 debuted at #7 in September 2004's NPD charts. It debuted on August 31st, 2004, so it achieved #7 with 30 full days on the charts. It did not chart in the top 20 in October.

2nd best opening so far. That's not bad at all. LO is currently at 900k give or take a few thousand. Realistically speaking, I think after seeing these numbers Star Ocean has a chance of reaching 700k worldwide. I was initially expecting a million seller before its release. I hope FF13 revives jrpgs.
