GranTurismo said: The series lacks something, it can't stand with the big boys of gaming, the sound stands no chance with games like FF, it lacks the graphics, it lacks replay value, and the fact that they have no voice's for the people is a major downfall.
They need to totally re-invent this series to save it. Make it darker and more of a dark story to it, toss in a adult link and just get rid of the whole kiddy feel of it.
Of course this is just what i feel about the series and some of you may feel that they should go back to the GC style one they had. This is not a flame on the series i just want something more from it. |
No offense (really), but I don't think you really get what Zelda is about. There's plenty of games that do exactly what you describe, but I'm glad Zelda is different.
I mean: Graphics, replay value & voice acting? That's all that comes to your mind when you think about Zelda? Then you're not a fan. How about deathmatches and online leaderboards?
The "kiddy feel", as you call it, is integral to the series and will never be removed. Zelda is not about some cool, badass soldier, it's about a boy facing an overwhelming adventure.Â
On topic: I think that Twilight Princess was one of the more "main story oriented" Zelda games, just like Ocarina. Majora's Mask was the very opposite (I once read that the Japanese working title translated to "side story", btw.) - and for that reason, it's my favourite Zelda game.
Gone downhill? You really can't say that. Majora's Mask was VERY different and still absolutely brilliant. Wind Waker had some annoying flaws, but was a great game nonetheless, providing a lot of new elements. Twilight Princess: Incredible atmosphere, best story so far, I loved the story driven parts ("saving Midna", for example), and the new twist in the music. Phantom Hourglass - Can't wait to play it, and some previews already stated it is one of the best Zelda's so far.
Currently playing: NSMB (Wii)
Waiting for: Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Wii), The Last Story (Wii), Golden Sun (DS), Portal 2 (Wii? or OSX), Metroid: Other M (Wii),
... and of course Zelda (Wii)
