claude, even in castle town when its full of people?

That's just it - Castle Town is bustling with life. I hear people complain that  not everyone talks to you, but the town has like 3 times the population of OoT's market place...were you really expecting every single person to stop and say absolutely worthless gargabe?

Castle town has the traditional Zelda freaks. My only complaint is that it has TOO MANY of the freaks in one place. In the other games, they're usually spread out between towns, but I guess since Kakariko was massacred and the gates are painted in the people's blood, it sort of makes sense that every one else would be in castle town....

how many millions of copies has twilight princess sold? seriously I don't think nintendo needs to weigh in the opinions of sony fanboys when considering what to do with Zelda, making a new game series would make more sense then altering it

I HAVE A DOUBLE DRAGON CAB IN MY KITCHEN!!!!!!

NOW A PUNISHER CAB!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The series lacks something, it can't stand with the big boys of gaming, the sound stands no chance with games like FF, it lacks the graphics, it lacks replay value, and the fact that they have no voice's for the people is a major downfall.

They need to totally re-invent this series to save it. Make it darker and more of a dark story to it, toss in a adult link and just get rid of the whole kiddy feel of it.

Of course this is just what i feel about the series and some of you may feel that they should go back to the GC style one they had. This is not a flame on the series i just want something more from it.

(sigh) i'm not even going to bother to argue against this cause it's just not worth my time...

i know what you mean, there's so many people in hyrule castle none of them stood out, or put a smile on my face like in WW.

Ummmm... Zelda is one of the 'Big Boys' of gaming. In fact, it's been around for so long and is so popular, it is one of the biggest boys of gaming, so I don't see your point.

Did you play the game?? It had a pretty dark feel to it, and I don't remember it feeling 'kiddy' at all. By using the word kiddy to describe it, you have exposed yourself as anti-wii by using the classic 'bad graphics, kiddy games, boo!' argument (very old and overused) that so many people try to use against Nintendo.

And by the way, the graphics may not have been technically amazing, since it was designed as a gamecube game, but the art direction is absolutely beautiful.

This game is not FF, it's not Killzone, it's not Halo, or anything else. It's zelda, and it did a very good job of being what it is.

That was a trolling post, not because you didn't like the game, but because you used the classic 'wii-hater' language of 'bad graphics, kiddy, not one of the big boys, etc' without really backing anything up. I doubt you ever played the game.

I think the towns in TP felt lifeless because EVERYBODY DIED. The town was SUPPOSED to be lifeless, that's really all there is too it. I don't know why people don't get it.

Thats ture, kakario village was intentional. Also, links home town had plenty of life. IMO the biggest letdown in the game though was highrule castle town, it felt lifeless and shallow compared to OoT castle town... they should have made hyrule castle town/hyrule field smaller, much more full of life. and warping was really stupid... and wolf form sucked :(

I kinda agree with grand turismo, the series is going downhill unfortunatly. They need to get back to their roots...or somthing. may be change up the dungeon+miniboss+new weapon+use new weapon in rest of dungeon+fight boss using new weapon. its kinda boring now...

nintendo has said TP was the last zelda of its kind, or something along those lines.

Let's be fair, to say that Zelda has gone downhill since Ocarina of Time is something of a tautology. After all, OoT is widely hailed as the greatest game of all time, so it's a bit cruel to criticize the subsequent titles for failing to best that mark, especially when virtually all of those titles (e.g. Wind Waker, Twilight Princess etc) have all been excellent titles in their own right.

I will say that I like the darker tone the series has taken. From a story point of view I absolutely loved Majora's Mask. Unfortunately it had the misfortune of releasing after OoT, which kind of killed it for a lot of people.

That said, I do think some reinvention is in order. However they need to be very careful about how they go about this. Zelda fan's have come to expect certain things, and failure to deliver on these things could result in a very vigorous backlash. If they decide to mix things up, I hope they keep their heads on straight. We want something like Metroid Prime or Resident Evil4 - something that reinvigorates a series while staying true to its roots. We do not want to see another Mario Sunshine, which despite its excellent reviews remains the only Mario game I wished they'd jsut take off into a corner and shoot.

According to our own database here, Twilight Princess has sold 3.65 million copies on the Wii, in addition to 1.31 in Gamecube sales. That's almost 5 million exactly, for those too lazy to do the addition: monster sale numbers. In fact, here is the TOTAL list of current-gen games that have outsold Twilight Princess:

Wii Sports (9.21 mil)
Wii Play (5.31 mil)
Gears of War (4.51 mil)

So far, it's only managed to outsell all but 3 of its generational competitors, and 2 of those 3 are the bundled Wii Sports and the remote-included Wii Play. (I'm not even counting Gamecube sales; if you do, then TP has outsold Gears by a fair margin.) We're still early in the Wii's lifespan - the game hasn't even been re-released as a budget priced "greatest hits" game yet - so the lifetime total may end up considerably higher before all is said and done. The notion that Zelda "can't stand with the big boys of gaming" is ludicrous.
