Hi all!

I want to play some old games on my old laptop.
I have: 1600Mhz processor, 64Mb GFX integrated, 512Mb of RAM...
WinXP / Ubuntu dual boot.

I tryed to play some games but everything is utter sh..

I was thinking... Some people at this site played games when KB was like TB is now.
So please, recommend me some gooood old games i could try out..

I like FPS, RPG, Strategy games... But i'm willing to try out anything that's good.

Reason for this is when i'm away from home, all i have is my laptop with me, so i thought
it would be good to play something...

If you can track down a copy of the old Total War games (Shogun and the first Medieval) I highly reommend those, and I'm pretty sure you can handle them. (They're strategy, by the by).

I believe you should be able to handle Fallout and Fallout 2 (RPG), and they're both being bundled for $20 at retail (along with Fallout Tactics, another strategy title).

For RPGs, check this place out:

I most heartily recommend Betrayal at Krondor (DOSBox required) and Albion (if you can handle it. I BELIEVE you can...).

Space Quest and King's Quest are all also bundled (six games for $20), if you like point and clicks.

Played..

You won't go wrong with LucasArt adventure games like Day of the Tentacle, Sam and Max, and the Monkey Island series.

Fallout 1 and 2.

Try www.gog.com. They have descriptions and pictures for those kind of games.

EDIT: And Lands of Lore. Ultima before part 8. Star Control 2. Tie Fighter.

You definitely want to play all the old strategy games out there: Warcraft I & II, Dune 2000, StarCraft, Command & Conquer, Command & Conquer: Red Alert & Red Alert 2 (skip Yuri's Revenge), Age of Empires I & II.

Also, I liked games where you build your own cities like Pharaoh, Empire, Caesar, Zeus and SimCity 3000 Unlimited.

I'm not sure if I should talk about this here... but emulation is also pretty good. Your laptop can probably play all games for NES, SNES, Genesis, PC Engine, some MAME, etc.

*EDIT: Oh, I cannot tell you how much you need to play all the MechWarrior (at least the old ones) and Wing Commander games. Those games are gems!

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

Watch my insane gameplay videos on my YouTube page!

noname2200, i'm downloading Albion, thnx!

Bard's Quest games!

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Maybe you mean Bard's Tale. If not, maybe it's worth a try.
