Forums - Nintendo - No hard drive until Wii HD

Alright guys, I think that I am finally coming to the sad conclusion the Wii owners will NEVER see a hard drive until Wii HD comes in 2011,2012.  I don't know about you guys, but I burnt my hard drive up quick and now only download select "must have" titles...and as of the past 6 months.  There hasn't been to many "must haves".  What do you guys think.  Also, Nintendo can do better than just downloading to the SD card.  If i devolped for WiiWare I would be pretty upset with Nintendo and their no hardrive problems.  I mean I understand they don't want to be categorized as a 300$ dollar console ($50 external drive), but seriously...enough is enough.  your thougts?

Sorry for not putting a question mark after my thread title.  I don't make threads often

Why did you waste your money on something that didn't have what you wanted on it, Cox, when both of the other consoles do have what you're after?

Because. I love Nintendo's games.  Also, I can't believe you got rid of smash.  What was you thinking.  Anyways, hows street fighter going.  I play on the 360 and I know you have PS3 sooooo that ruins that idea.  Are you any good, because i am absolutely horrible

I really doubt they'd make a Wii HD, they'd just make a new console lol.

I'm decent at it. It's really good, though. Me and my cousin was playing the other... A lot of fun.

I still play smash, just not online.

well its pretty obvious they dont want to spend additional money on their console that they dont have to so why make it with a hard drive?

Long Live SHIO!

Wii HD isn't going to happen unless you intend Wii HD to mean an actual next gen console (not a revision)

As for hard-drive, I am not that fussed about it... 2GB would be more than enough for me so either extra flash memory in the box or the ability to play from SD would be more welcome than a hard-drive.

The 512MB you actually get with the system fits about 15 medium N64 games by my estimation... except it isn't truely 512MB because the Mii Channel/Weather/News etc is all included on that.

So if the Wii had 2GB of memory instead of 512MB... you could easily fit every Wiiware game there is curently on the VC, as well as a good chunk of the VC games.

I don't need it anyway, at least not yet.

Nintendo still doomed?
Feel free to add me on 3DS or Switch! (PM me if you do ^-^)

I'm still waiting on that firmware update so I can toss a 16gig SDHC card in there and be done with it.

i have like 50-60 VC games.....i would burn up that 2g drive up and I have like 5 wii ware games. Unless Nintendo has said something, I wouldn't be suprised to see Nintendo just improve the current Wii. Kind of like the DS improvements with maybe slightly better tech and cutting edge motion technology. If they come out with a new console with the next 3 years, they could really hurt themselve imo. seriously, people are just now able to get their hands on one. This gen has proved that there is a "graphic cap". With that being said, i don't see why they wouldn't do revisions, but i on a side note....i read that some dev said they were already preparing for wii 2. Think of this. Wii HD, with WM+ already built into the controllers.
