Black College Football Experience? A porno-game!?

I actually did a story about that a few years ago - talked to the devs - a group out of Baton Rouge.

The problem is - EA axed black colleges out of their college sports games. This game is nada but black colleges - all of them. It's a very promising sports title and uses the Unreal engine.

...That actually sounds pretty damn cool. And the development house is in Louisiana?

I didn't know we had any development houses in Louisiana!

Yeah. Check out dukecitygamerz.com and look for the interview. If I find it, I'll post it. It was from 2007.

EDIT: Here's the link: http://dukecitygamerz.blogspot.com/2007/10/interview-with-black-college-football.html

Pardon this ignorant european, but what are black colleges? I very much hope they are not what they sound like?

Quite a thread detour, I know, please indulge me.

Colleges specifically founded for the education of blacks. What did you think it meant?

Yet, today, America's leaders are reenacting every folly that brought these great powers [Russia, Germany, and Japan] to ruin -- from arrogance and hubris, to assertions of global hegemony, to imperial overstretch, to trumpeting new 'crusades,' to handing out war guarantees to regions and countries where Americans have never fought before. We are piling up the kind of commitments that produced the greatest disasters of the twentieth century.

It's what it sounds like. No, it is not a bad thing. The original intent was way off-base, but they serve a very real function in helping to strengthen communities where education might otherwise be impossible to receive.

Well, I hoped it was just an idiomatic denomination, like the "Ivy League".

edit:

after reading Khuutra's post it: I'm glad they're actually being useful. I'll keep my phylosophical and political doubts about them for another time and when I know more.

I had to look it up.

The term black people usually refers to a racial group of humans with a dark brown skin color, but it has also been used to categorise a number of diverse populations into one common group. Some definitions of the term include only people of relatively recent Sub Saharan African descent (see African diaspora). Among the members of this group, dark skin color is typically accompanied by the expression of natural afro-hair texture. Other definitions of the term Black extend to any of the populations characterized by dark skin color, a definition that also includes certain populations in Oceania, Southeast Asia, [1][2] southern South Asia, [3] and the southern Middle East[4].

Thank you for being open-minded.

You probably thought that blacks weren't allowed to go to other colleges, didn't you?
