I'm basing my info on the IGN release dates as they stand from yesturday, 9/3. Things can change; I know. My differentiation between genres may not suit your style perfectly; so fine. I will not be including Playstation 2 because it's last gen, so too bad. Do the work yourself if it's that critical.

Now that all of that is out of the way, here's the point. It's hard to say which system is always the best, because sales do not necessarily entail quality, and gems can pop up on even the most awful of consoles. I'm gonna go genre by genre and show the fall lineup. You guys then discuss who rules in that area. If the release dates get updated by new games added or pushed into next fall, we can reconvene and decide again what that means for each console. I have taken a few liberties by not adding any games specifically for children, such as Spongebob and Ben 10, and will not include any games that have to do with hunting because I figure no one wants to argue over that anyways. If I'm offending any hunting game fans, too bad. Spend your money more wisely in the future. So without further ado...

In my opinion, Wii is in a league of it's own. You either want arcade style racing really bad or you don't. It has no competition. If you're a fan of more serious racing games however, it's kind of up in the air whether PS3 or 360 is right for you. I think 360 edges out because of PGR4, which has a good chance of being well received. If however you like Off-Road racing, PS3 has DiRT which was absent from the 360 lineup, so PS3 would be your obvious choice.

If you take already released games into account, than the 360 kills, as stuntman and DiRT are already out for it, as is Forza motorsport 2. Also, on that list, PGR4 is looking like the best game by far.

PS3's racing cred's are still there, but it won't be a major player until GT5 comes out.

As for the Wii... Asside from Nitrobike, there's nothing there that looks all that great. A major GT/Forza like Sim racer is so far alluding the Wii much like it did the Cube. I really hope that someone steps into fill that void.

Damn, I forgot to check the past months reviews for the racing games. Sometimes the PS3 gets things way too late. Anyhoos, I backtrack the Off Road comment from the first post and just reply that obviously 360 is where you go for racing, as if you didn't know that already. As far as Forza though, I'm keeping any titles before September off the table unless it affects the same title coming out in fall for another console, like DiRT and Stuntman.

I think GT5: Prologue comes out for the PS3 this October, which gives the PS3 a better run against the 360 for racing.

Um, the 360 ALREADY has DIRT, its just slow being developed on PS3. In light of that, the 360 has TWO racing exclusives in FE and PGR4 and a timed exclusive with dirt

Microsoft obviously wins this one hands down because it has more 'EXCLUSIVE' games than the PS3 since DiRT and Stunt man already came out for the 360 which is at two (Fatal Inertia and PGR4).

IMO Microsoft really doesn't need to release PGR4 this soon if they don't want to. I think they can release it when GT5 comes out. That's how good Microsoft's lineup is. It all comes down to which console you have and if you have both....which one looks better

As for the Wii, the only game TO ME that looks interesting would be Nitrobike and maybe Indy, if it were online. Hands down, Wii's Nitrobike looks like its best racing title for its lineup due to it being online enabled. At least until MKWii shows up.
