Well, technically the first game to do that would be PONG and ATARI games

I was just pointing out that even though FFVIII looked nice, it is because they had a static camera angle through most of the game.  Games like OOT and Mario 64 had movable camera angle, so comparing them visually is apples and oranges.

 

Pong and atari games had isometric perspective RPGs?

I was referring to a picture background with a fixed camera angle.  Not neccessarily isometric perspective.

PS1 hands down because it has Vagrant Story. Great, great times. SNES is great too.

The PS1 doesn't compare to ANY of Nintendo's consoles except the Wii, and the Wii right now might even be better than the PS1.

I don't remember any Kojima games on SNES.

He didn't make any games except some on the MSX2 and PC Engine during the SNES era.   3 games total I believe.

      The best version of his game Snatcher was on the Japanese PS1.  He also made Policenauts for multiconsoles, and it might have been on Japanese PS1.  And of course the first MGS was on PS1.

Which as I stated before neither came about during the SNES era. Snatcher launched in 1988 and Policenauts hit on various consoles between late 1994 and 1996.

I must ask though, what does Kojima have to do with the topic?
