Forums - Gaming - Is it just me or does Black look better than The Conduit???

Most Wii games as i remember have been called out as ugly looking on screens (even SMg suffered from this) but that does not mean that in motion it doesn't look heaps better.

Confident about Conduit, i have seen only 2 levels thus far from the game so it's still too early to say anything about the art style. In a sense the situation is exactly the same as with Killzone 2 where people where saying that the art direction is bpring and later it turned out that the later levels are better.

If i lose access to this profile as well....I'm done with this site.....You've been warned!!.....whoever you are...

Happy Wii60 user. Me and my family are a perfect example of where hardcore meets casual and together mutate into something awesome.

2) Black seems rather plain and is doing less (lighting effects and such). However, less can be more and it seems Black did a good job with it.

Well, you mustn't have played Black then, because that game had a shitload of stuff going on. It really was the Burnout of first person shooters.

Watch this, espescially towards the end (sorry, can't embed).

As for which looks better, it's pretty close. Black definately has the edge in explosions, destructability and particle effects as well as the sheer amount of chaos on screen.

don't forget that black is also a single player experience, so that darkness and blowing stuff everywhere works with preset physics and such. the art direction and tech hacks are win as far as presentation goes, but no online multiplayer(not able to,) and less impressive real time animation and physics as far as i can see.

I'll preface this by saying screens are a poor way of comparing graphics but i don't know where these Black screens from because they look heaps better than Black screens i've seen elsewhere on the internet.

The Conduit doesn't look that great anyway.

Play my LittleBigPlanet level: Mystic Runner. Thanks!

I didn't play it. It was based soley on the screenshots he pointed me to.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy
In the past we played games. In the future we watch games. - Forest-Spirit

I'm going to ignore this whole conversation and just reminisce a little bit about Black.

That was probably one of the real underappreciated gems of the last generation.

Black was awesome dude, I never owned it but I played it on my friends Xbox.

The graphics of both games are similar. Black's graphics looks slightly better than the Conduit.

TO GOD BE THE GLORY

Guns in that game felt heavy. They had a kick like you wouldn't believe, and sounded like bombs going off next to your eardrum. Everything had a very solid thump to it. Very nice.
