Forums - Nintendo - IGN gushing hands-on of Excitebots: Trick Racing

This game seems to be following a recent trend.

1. Game is announced.
2. People cringe when they hear the concept.
3. People see the game in action.
4. People think that it may not be so bad.

Now if we can just get to
5. People buy in droves to support developers who try.

This sounds like an early purchase for me.

I am Mario.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

There's a great picture floating around out there that sums up this cycle, but I can't seem to find it. =P

I was also surprised on the price! I'm definately getting this.

Currently Playing: Mario Kart 7, Mario Kart 8, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Super Smash Bros for Wii U

Predictions:

Super Mario Galaxy will pass Super Mario 64 in total sales CORRECT!

It's ironic how if this was ExciteTruck II, people would be saying "REHASH" but since it's ExciteBots, they call it a decent franchise kiddified.

I look forward to it myself.

Pixel Art can be fun.

Very impressed with Monster Games, I'll be buying it based on the developer alone.

Love the IGN comments, all the gamers that "think it looks ok, but since its more 'kiddie' they will hate/pass on it...". Says it all.

Wonder what secret unlockables they can't talk about? Extra online modes? Games within the game?

The online poker-racing sounds pretty cool as well :)

Chalk up another 8+ game for the wii. It's been a pretty good streak with HOTD, Deadly Creatures, Tenchu, Madworld, Rune Factory and PES 2009.

"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

"The so-called "hardcore" gamer is a marketing brainwashed, innovation shunting, self-righteous idiot who pays videogame makers far too much money than what is delivered."

Day one for me...loved Excite Truck...cant wait for this!

noname's albums: for all your picture needs.

If it supports SD i will get it

Looks pretty good and I support the price tag. I think games are overpriced as it is and they should all be retailing at 39.99 or less on the wii.
