lol, I know GTA isn't as big (at least as a franchise) but I was just correcting megadude. I wasn't trying to imply that because GTA sold 2 to 1 in America thats what ffXIII would do. However, I do think it will, but not for that reason. I'm talking about America only, which is what is topic is about. The game will be released the same day in America, probably in holiday 2010. I don't think ps3 will have done anything but lose marketshare in that time frame. I know everybody is talking about price cuts for the ps3, but they are also talking about microsoft quickly following it up with their own price cut which would negate any ps3 momentum, in America at least. Also, the 360 has been pretty firmly established as the RPG console this gen, so more than likely, the majority of fans for the genre will have a 360. True the franchise has been sony exclusives in the past, but just looking at the sales data for america and the 360 having twice the user base as the ps3, I think it is pretty obvious that a lot of sony fans switched over. However, even former sony exclusives like devil may cry have sold better on the 360 in America. That is what happens when you have twice the user base. I think what most of the people here are saying is they think the ps3 will almost match sells of the 360 in America when this comes out. That is the only way I can see that it would be able to sell more on the ps3. I don't see that happening, however, I only see the gap widening. I work in retail, and talk to people about their systems purchases all the time. Sony is just not popular at all this generation. People tend to buy the systems that their friends have.
