Ok. This game is coming out q4 09 in Japan aright? SE has said that after that they begin translating the game to English. Then AFTER the game has been translated they will BEGIN to port the game over to 360. Translation ususally takes 6 months to a year. How long will it take to port? I dunno we haven't seen a game this huge get ported from PS3 to 360 this gen.

The game is going to bang out 2-5 million copies in Japan before it will ever be played on a Microsoft console. The game will not sell 2 to1 in the US. More like 60/40 as GTA4 and SF4 did.

Sell more on 360? Not a chance in hell.

Dude, GTA4 did sell 2 to 1 in the us.  Xbox 360 sales are 4.36 mil and ps3 sells are 2.37... that is pretty close to 2 to 1 my friend and nowhere close to 60/40.  I really don't understand how you think it won't sell more on the 360.  My only guess is you are smoking something quite amazing... or living in denial:)

Hey "dude". Haha.

Here`s your statement:

"Hey DUDE, gta sold 2 to 1 on 360 vs. ps3.  Then of course it will be the same with Final Fantasy. Of course. Of course? Please, of course...."

It`s about WHEN it`s released on the two consoles, and gta isn`t nearly as popular as Final Fantasy. I really don`t understand how you can compare those games.

lol, I know GTA isn't as big (at least as a franchise) but I was just correcting megadude.  I wasn't trying to imply that because GTA sold 2 to 1 in America thats what ffXIII would do.  However, I do think it will, but not for that reason.  I'm talking about America only, which is what is topic is about.  The game will be released the same day in America, probably in holiday 2010.  I don't think ps3 will have done anything but lose marketshare in that time frame.  I know everybody is talking about price cuts for the ps3, but they are also talking about microsoft quickly following it up with their own price cut which would negate any ps3 momentum, in America at least.  Also, the 360 has been pretty firmly established as the RPG console this gen, so more than likely, the majority of fans for the genre will have a 360.  True the franchise has been sony exclusives in the past, but just looking at the sales data for america and the 360 having twice the user base as the ps3, I think it is pretty obvious that a lot of sony fans switched over.  However, even former sony exclusives like devil may cry have sold better on the 360 in America.  That is what happens when you have twice the user base.

I think what most of the people here are saying is they think the ps3 will almost match sells of the 360 in America when this comes out.  That is the only way I can see that it would be able to sell more on the ps3.  I don't see that happening, however, I only see the gap widening.  I work in retail, and talk to people about their systems purchases all the time.  Sony is just not popular at all this generation.  People tend to buy the systems that their friends have.

No no no (in spanish accent). Read the post, and you`ll see this thread wasn`t only about us sales.

haha, no no no, I think you need to read the post.  They are talking about what a microsoft rep said IN RESPONSE TO NPD DATA.  Which, of course, only covers statistics from America.  I think it is pretty safe to say that the microsoft rep is only talking about the sales data in America.

no it won't outsell the ps3 version!

I'm sorry but did you just say GTA isn't nearly as popular as Final Fantasy? If you mean in Japan then fine but world wide thats simply not true.

Check sales data of all Final Fantasy games and all gta games then.

There are a lot more Final Fantasy games, so comparing total sales is not really the way to go about it. The best selling GTAs simply annihilate the best selling Final Fantasies.

And why are there more games? Think before answering.

Because it's an older series with a shitload of spin-offs.

And not because it`s populare? Ok. Ye have figured it out. Good boy, boy.

Nobody said it isn't popular. Only that it's not as popular as Grand Theft Auto, which is absolutely true. Reading comprehension FTW.

There are other countires than us. Do a survey in those and us and see which ones most popular. Don`t just talk to yer friends and us citizens.

I don't need to do a survey. Rockstar and Square-Enix already did one: they made some games, and Grand Theft Auto has proven more popular among paying customers than Final Fantasy for some years now.
