This thread is here to promote Brawl+, not talk about how much I suck at Brawl. Thank you!
Did you ever dream of a faster version of Super Smash Bros. Brawl? Of being to cancel move animations like in the old Smash games (called L-cancelling)? Of a version where characters are all more balanced, meaning being able to be good again with Captain Falcon, Ganondorf, Ness, Marth and many other old Super Smash characters? Of a version where random tripping doesn't happen? etc. Basically, did you ever dream of a more competitive version of Super Smash Bros. Brawl?
Well, it seems like a few people already noticed that Brawl lacked a few things that made the series technical and competitive in the past. A group of MLG players at SmashBoards.com are creating a new version of Brawl by adding a few lines of codes on a file to make it play more and more like Melee. It's basically a hack that alters the game's mechanics to suit those who miss good ol' Smash! Trust me, it's fricking good! PLEASE NOTE, they are not attempting to make Melee 2.0, and they never will.
You will need The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, an SD card and SD card reader and obviously a copy of Super Smash Bros. Brawl to install everything. It involves installing the Homebrew Channel. Don't worry, it won't break your Wii unless you're a retard and try to load a PAL or JPN Wii game so it can update new codes that shouldn't be in your American Wii (if you have one that is) in the first place! You will also need Gecko OS to implement the codeset. If you still want to play old Brawl, you can, but you absolutely need to launch the Homebrew Channel in order to play Brawl+.
PLEASE NOTE everything is still in beta testing! I've been playing with it all week and it's been the first time in a LONG TIME that I've had this much fun playing Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Not everything is perfect, obviously, and I personally think there are some things that need to be fixed like the stun rate and auto-L cancelling, which makes every characters a bit too easy to use and make combos that would otherwise be impossible to pull out in Melee (you still need to be good to pull them out though), but other than that, it seems the team at SmashBoards made a good job at keeping the best of both worlds. Some stuff in Brawl will remain, like the air dodge, and some stuff from Melee will not make a comeback, like wave-dashing. Good riddance! =P
You might think "Well, they can basically add any code! That's crap, we don't have any words on what they can add in the codesets!" Well, let me just say it's all lies! Here's what an admin at the site said about this: "Of course - we'd like everyone's opinion on this codeset. While we are trying to produce the most competitive set available, this is still a community project. Everyone's opinion should be considered, and will be provided that they can present their points in a structured, comprehensible manner."

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...
