Forums - Sony - Home -- is THIS living?

So you're saying I'm lying?

I promise, every area I went into besides Sully's Bar had frame rate issues.  Every area I entered after the Red Bull Plane Racing had sound issues.

And who said I hate my PS3?  I said I hate Home and think it's an embarrassment, but no hate for my PS3.

I don't know if anyone is saying you're lying.  It's just a definite consistent habit of you having some major issue that seemingly no one else has (Kill Zone 2 issues,  Home issues, Can't tell the difference between DVD and Blu-Ray while calling other people fanboys?).  It just starts to get a 'bit' ridiculous.  I mean, I don't disagree that Home has tons of things that it needs to add to become viable.  It's just funny that you run into a wide array of technical issues with it (Even pointing out texture issues etc), but then in the very same breath you will say you can't tell a difference between Blu-Ray and DVD.

Color me a little bit skeptical.

Home IS Living. Here is why:
1. I have to wait in line to do things. This is living.
2. I have to walk to where I want to go. This is living.
3. When I go to public areas there is advertising all over. This is living.
4. There is a constant attempts to get money from me. This is living.
5. I am not good at pool or bowling, and have little interest to do them. This is living (for me).
6. Public spaces are owner by corporate interests. This is living.

Not sure what the complain here asking if it is living. It looks like living to me. In fact, I think Sony emulated too much of real life, like lines. So, it is too much living.

Now, is the question whether or not it is alive. I think that answer is "no". Alive is Second Life, which is also free. It is a full of life, complete with its drops, shortcoming and other issues. It doesn't have lines though, and you can teleport to where is needed. There is no wait to to load areas either.

if any other user consistenly posted anti-Sony/MS threads like this i'm certain it wouldn't be tolerated . Twestern is completley aware of the annoyance threads like these cause but he continues to make them, they don't change anything , no one really cares and it's just attracts attention for it's contraversy .

The fact that you go into so much detail about why you dislike Home baffles me ; you originaly said you disliked home fair enough , you probably re-visited home knowing fully well that you wern't going to enjoy the experience. No one's really concerend with the content of your threads ( although some of the things you say are questionable ) but the motive and intention behind your threads is questionable.

Is it fair to say you'd be considered trolling/trollish if your name wasn't green ? I think so.

If you'd like I can make a video of the frame rate as I know that has been a consistent problem and also make a video of the scene download error.  I don't know about the sound issues and texture issues as that was the first time I encountered those was last night so I don't know if they will occur again.

As for the KZ2 issues brought up, it's fairly well known that that's a buggy game so it's not too hard to believe that one and it's also know that a lot of people don't see the difference between an upscaled DVD and a BluRay.

I walked all around the planes and didn't see an x prompt to fly a name, only peoples names.  Maybe there were just people in the way?

It's so unintuitive it could only be made by sony.

Just click X on anything, then keep scrolling left or right until the red bull race option comes up.

A dreadful explanation for a dreadful interface. It's probably best explained with a video -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VBGKKAzY9L8

Not to sound like the biggest pooper of parties in the world, but it's dull as dish water once you do try it anyway.

...that's just beyond words.

@twesterm

It seems to me HOME was NOT a big investment after all, perhaps at the very beginning it was set out to be, but shortly after it was cut off and very likely disbanded and left to a minimum group with limited resources to "finish it". That would explain the amount of time it took to become "public beta" and the current quality state of it all.

We just didn't know better (and probably won't), but I bet HOME as it was suppoused to be was canned a loooong time ago.

You know what? I get the feeling Home may never get out of this "public beta" state. It's probably just there trying to recover the investment and to make some profit with the micro-transactions and advertising, but it's not like it will evolve or anything. At least that's my take right now, I'll know for sure in the next 6 months. If by the time the public beta is 1-year old and no substantial improvement has been done, then I'll know for sure if my assumptions were right...

Having issues with something and backing them up with facts is not trolling.  This is the reason so many fanboys get pissed off when they're banned for trolling, they don't even know the difference between complaining about a game or console, and trolling.

"I HATE THE Wii, IT'S A LOW DEF PoS!" Trolling

"I hate the Wii and it doesn't look good on my HDTV in my opinion." Not trolling

Easy...

MaxwellGT2000 - "Does the amount of times you beat it count towards how hardcore you are?"

Shouldn't you have just bumped up and edited your other "I Hate Home" thread instead of creating a 2nd one?
