give avatars guns and give 1$ to spend on psn stuff for every killed person - that would help i guess.

It's a 3d virtual chat room. With some mini games, the ability to chat in a variety of ways. It advertises Sony and other companies products.
I agree with the general premise that Home just doesn't have anything to 'do' to make it enjoyable. In-game trophies, challenges, enjoyable things would all make Home more worthwhile.
It's an evolving process. I don't think it will ever be my cup of tea so to speak though. It just needs more direction and purpose.
All Home Spaces need to have more 'to do'. The Home Square should be the place where you just run around and chat and talk. The individual spaces should be a place where you enjoy your time doing other things related to that space. That's the biggest problem with Home. Resident Evil 5's space forcing you to own or have a copy of Resident Evil 5 and then allowing you to play RE2 on the arcade is a great idea.
They should have an entire Arcade actually. Things like this will add life, and enjoyment beyond chatting. PSOne, PSTwo and any other game libraries these companies have should be placed on Home and on Arcades. Maybe even if they want to make money off of it, offer cheap arcade memberships. Things of that nature.
They need to turn the theatre into something relevant. I suggested streaming music videos. Similar to MTV. Stream different Sony artists music on Playstation Home in the theatre. Offer ACTUAL movies in the theatre. Do something other then run commercials 24/7.
As for many of your complaints? Frame Rate issues? Please. You're really grasping at straws. I'm no fan of Home either but there isn't frame rate issues.
Head in the way watching a movie? Go to Full Screen mode.
I do agree about the waiting your turn thing. Either make more (Chess Tables for example) or allow more than one person to use it at a time. Although as a previous poster stated, increasing the overall number of games should decrease waiting times of many things.
You just have to download every area "once", so it's really not a big deal. Then you just load into a new area and the downloads are very fast.
yikes im agreeing with twesterm again!! Whats the world coming too!!
"another night feeling sorry for the people who put a lot of work into that thing. " you dont know how many times i tell myself that
O will no longer read any posts you make twestern. You don't even know that there are many of each area. You and a friend can both walk into the movie theater and not see each other. Next time do more research instead of once again hating on something with the Sony name.
Dudes running around pretending to be chicks? Sounds like every MMORPG I've ever played.
| yanamaster said: Huh, from listening to you people i can only assume that Home indeed is a failure. It doesn't do anything that hasn' been done already and to top it off, it's actually quite buggy to the point that it can be game breaking for some. Stop using the "it's a beta" excuse. It's been 3 months now and so far nothing has really improved so you might as well just give it a rest. |
Home is a failure? How much money have you made from selling virtual clothes in your lifetime?
Home is getting Sony money, so it cant be that much of a failure.

It needs to bring more money than what it costed them to develop.
How many cups of darkness have I drank over the years? Even I don't know...

I walked all around the planes and didn't see an x prompt to fly a name, only peoples names. Maybe there were just people in the way?
-edit-
And just to note I didn't try the Warhawk and Resident Evil 5 areas because I don't have those games and don't want to try the areas.
| Cthulhu said: You know you can fly planes in the redbull area? No waiting in lines I have not seen any framerate drops anywhere Lol why do I defend Home?? You only intend to troll, i went to home yesterday to see what is new, and 90% of what you say is bullcrap Why all this hate? I really dont understant why you have a PS3, you hate it so much, your PS3 hates you too
|
So you're saying I'm lying?
I promise, every area I went into besides Sully's Bar had frame rate issues. Every area I entered after the Red Bull Plane Racing had sound issues.
And who said I hate my PS3? I said I hate Home and think it's an embarrassment, but no hate for my PS3.

It's so unintuitive it could only be made by sony.
Just click X on anything, then keep scrolling left or right until the red bull race option comes up.
A dreadful explanation for a dreadful interface. It's probably best explained with a video -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VBGKKAzY9L8
Not to sound like the biggest pooper of parties in the world, but it's dull as dish water once you do try it anyway.
