Forums - Nintendo - Punch-Out!! to have multiplayer, why no online?

This game is going to be awesome, I personally could care less for online. I just want it for the single player.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Punchout is very much a "fast reaction-time" game. Lag would kill it.

You can get away with lag in a game like Mario Kart - but not a game like Punchout.

No online is just fine with me...

meh i don't care about no local or online multiplayer. game will be awesome

Online is ass. Its better Nintendo concentrate on single and off-line multiplayer. Deal with it.

We have a WINNER!!!

The fact that this game is even getting a multiplayer mode is strange and I don't think they'll stick to the original formula quite as much otherwise how will they pull it off?

Quite simply online in a game like this really would add absolutely nothing to the game. Why player 2 player boxing fights online anyway? Split screen is much better in most cases and this is one of those cases. Besides as shams put it. Lag would kill it.

Also to everyone that thinks I'm complaining, go do a site search on me and punchout, I've always felt that there's no need for multiplayer in the first place.

online is cool but not necessary. As well as balance board. Punch out has always been more arcade oriented with easy to pick controls and local multiplayer.

Not every game should have online and this is one of them, hell I'm sureprised this has multiplayer for two people.

Wow are you freaking serious?  With ^^^ that logic we would just play the same shit over and over again.  Yeah I would like the option the play it classic style with the same people.

Here are some things I think a  $50 game should have:

1.  I would also like to be able to unlock more people, that are new to this generation

2.  I would like to be able to create my own charaters

3.  It would be nice if the Mii's were available to use in place of Mac

4.  I would like to be able to fight as Glass Joe, King Hippo, Soda Popinski ect.

5.  See 4 it would be great for online play, which we don't have

6.  Balance Board involvment (Which it should have)

7.  Different levels of competition

8.  The "opportunity" to play it exactly like it was on the NES, not have that just be the whole damn game!

9.  At home multiplayer which allows for tournaments

10.  Ability to get bigger and stronger as you progress through the game

I could list more, but I think you get the just, I don't want to pay $50 for a damn game I could buy for $5 on VC.  You get that!

I think it was inevitable to see multiplayer added. I mean, aside from creating a fairly deep career mode of some sort, there are very few ways you could add value to punch-out. And of course, said fairly deep career mode would also be a violation of the franchise's spirit, and would add little of value to the audience at large.

No online is take it or leave it for me, but this is Next Level Games we're talking about. Online is still a possibility (just because its not on the boxart yet doesn't mean anything)

So why don't they fix the lag then?  Are we going to allow lag to be used as an excuse from now till eternity?  I wouldn't have suggested online if there was no multiplayer but if the game has multiplayer it should have online.  This is 2009.

i DONT CARE about online, I want a TRUE one player experience like previous Punch Out

Multi player is a plus, but no need for online for me (never played RE5 online...)
