I'm sorry montana, but i don't get why are you laughing. Pokemon is a bigger saga (sales wise) than mario. The only way mario outsells pokemon is due to the fact that the original mario bros sold 40.21 million due to it coming along with the NES, same case that with wii sports. Pokemon always sold separatedly, counting out some special color editions. It may not be by a large amount, but pokemon out edges mario

Khuutra: Sorry if I seemed rude.

Post: There's still no indication of how Super Mario Bros. would have sold without bundling. Heck, Super Mario World and recently, New Super Mario Bros., were both bundled.

Yo.

I think he was saying that if you removed the bundled sales from Super Mario Bros, the 15 or so million difference could be erased. Not ridiculous, but too late anyways. I'm already in a giggle fit.

*Snicker* *Snicker* *Snicker*

Well, keep in mind, that list also doesn't include Mario Kart as Mario games.

@Montana
The Mario serie is A LOT older than Pokemon and the Wii series still need to catch Pokemon first.

That's exactly the point that i'm trying to make. Pokemon as a series that is not bundled sold awesomely, and it's just short of 20 million units of the Mario series who always was heavily bundled. I just feel that Pokemon has done a bigger achievement than Mario did, but be it as it may, they both destroy each other series in term of sales, and they are both nintendo xD

Current PC Build

CPU - i7 8700K 3.7 GHz (4.7 GHz turbo) 6 cores OC'd to 5.2 GHz with Watercooling (Hydro Series H110i) | MB - Gigabyte Z370 HD3P ATX | Gigabyte GTX 1080ti Gaming OC BLACK 11G (1657 MHz Boost Core / 11010 MHz Memory) | RAM - Corsair DIMM 32GB DDR4, 2400 MHz | PSU - Corsair CX650M (80+ Bronze) 650W | Audio - Asus Essence STX II 7.1 | Monitor - Samsung U28E590D 4K UHD, Freesync, 1 ms, 60 Hz, 28"

Super Mario series has 28 years worth of sales and according to Khuutra's post it sold 201M.

Pokemon has 13 years worth of sales and sold 186M.

Seems to me like Pokemon is a much stronger seller.

Edit - Saw that it does not include Mario Kart.

Hmmm, I wonder what sales are for Mario games when they are combined.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

I think the 360 sales and SFIV sales are the big headline this month. Wow at almost 400k 360's sold - that's crazy. Both SFIV skus *extremely* close...

60 million, according to our numbers.

Wait, really? That's...pretty important. Without Mario Kart I retract my statement. Plus, I'm not talking about how long each series has been out or what.; I'm talking about total sales, and Mario still has the highest. That's my definition.
