How is that this football thread turned into "american football is better"?

You yankees remind me of fanboys of a certain console. A console that less people has, supposed to be better for some reason, but they keep insulting the others for some reason.

Well it was named "The Official Football Thread!"  Without any defining variable in the topic technically anything relating to football is on topic.  Oh speaking of no one playing it outside America, American Football actually has spreading in worldwide popularity in the last few years.  For example:

On an amatuer level the sport has become very popular in Mexico, Canada, and Japan.  One of the most popular animes and mangas currently running in Japan is called Eyeshield 21, which is all American Football.  The UK has a league (The BAFL, British American Football League).  Similarly many South American countries play it on an amatuer level as well.  I'm not saying it's even close to Soccer in international popularity (nor will it ever catch up), but to say it's completely unknown outside the US is false.

@ ion storm... yea Darren Bent got sold for more then thierryy =(

You still don't get it do you? We're talking about two sports that are very different in essence. Football is a light-contact sport whereas your american thing is based around full body contact. Because of that the tactics are obviously different. You say that i'm riding on stereotypes? You're riding the same express as i am. Man, you probably don't have a single clue what it takes to play football on amatuer level. Sure that when you watch teams on tv every single action seems easy as pie. But that took years and years for each single player on the field to learn those "easy" movements. Everything is based around technique and tactics. Our stars would be nothing if it were not for the rest of the team. Not to mention that there is hardly anyone out there that would even go as far as to say that a team is based around their persona.

Anderlecht FTW XD.

@Ishy: yeah, that's why I don't like Cristiano Ronaldo that much. Serie A has a super-defensive style of play (opposite of Premiership's super-offensive style), and I guess they must try all ways to score. Here in Mexico, acting a foul means a yellow card for you.

BTW, I've found this site for games streams, I'll try with the Sevilla-AEK game :D

Fine fine.  We'll agree to disagree to keep it from being derailed any further.  I agree its not really fair to the topic to keep this derailed.  You are right that they are a very different type of sport.

Oh and btw, I was on my high school's JV soccer team for 4 years.  Obviously, I'm not great at it, but I certainly know what's going on.  In my opinion Soccer is the funnest sport to play, and the most tiring, but I will never enjoy watching it as much as American Football.  Soccer's also fun to watch if you are at the game, but somewhat boring on TV.

Dude. High School? Please.

You said on an amatuer level... obviously you intend to act like a jerk even if I answer your statement directly.
