Forums - Microsoft - Resident Evil 5 not working properly for anyone else?

I bought the game a couple days ago and finally got a chance to play a little bit just now. I put the game in and load it up. So I get to the screen where it tells you the history of Resident Evil and says loading in the bottom corner. I read through the long story and figure it will go to the game after the story or when I hit start. The story ends and then repeats itself so I hit start but nothing happens. So I go back to the dashboard and start over. This time, I manage to bypass the story and the game begins. Let me tell you, the opening cut scene looks amazing. So I'm watching it and soon, Sheva appears and introduces herself. Shortly after, the screen freezes but the audio continues on fine. I push start but again, nothing happens. So once again, I head back  to the dashboard.

I'm installing the game to see if that helps any. I'm just curious if anyone else has had these issues.

I'll come up with something better eventually...

Sounds like you're about to suffer RRoD. Same thing happened to me on Gear 2 and less then a week later RRoD.

Now Playing: Crysis 2

Last Finished: BulletStorm

Online IDs: PSN: computermaximus, XBL: computermaximus

Hasn't happened to me before. But yes, that sounds like the beginning phases of RRoD. My copy of Rock Band kept taking ages to load, and froze many times...Eventually, it RRoDed around the 5th or 6th time I tried to play it.

Or, the game may be suffering random hiccups. How old is your 360?

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Ah, that's not good to hear. I installed the game andd no problems since though. I'll be pissed and surprised if I had an RROD since it's a newer system and I just got it sometime in December.

Hmm. if you installed it, and there haven't been any issues, it may have been a weird glitch.

shouldn this be in the gaming section
but on topic this happened to me as well

@Dsister: He's wondering if it's a problem with his copy of the game, which is on a DVD and not a Blu-Ray, or if it's his 360. It doesn't really apply to the PS3.

OT: Did you check the disc for dust or scratches?

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

"Ok, girl's trapped in the elevator, and the power's off.  I swear, if a zombie comes around the next corner..."
