Outlawauron is crazy. PS2 wasn't even as powerful as the Dreamcast. The difference was that the PS2, as the most succesful console ever, has had a lot of investment in its games so it reached its full potential. Still, the hardware was clearly unable to generate graphics at the same level as Gamecube's Rogue Squadron 2, Wind Waker, Resident Evil 4 and Twilight Princess. It simply couldn't. That's common sense.

About Symphonia, I have to say the Wii sequel looks much more beautiful, though the game is not as great as the original (I have both).

I didn't mean to bash the Wii, it's just that's how I feel about it, I'm jealous of how the Wii is selling and I don't think it deserves to sell like does. That's all.

I doubt any mature persons' feelings are hurt, just because you voice your opinion.

I do however disagree with your opinion on the Wii, as well as your assesment of why it "doesn't deserve" to be #1.

I am a little perterbed as to why these talking points continue to resonate. I wonder what will happen to threads such as these when the Wii continues to move upstream (Read Malstrom) and begins offering games that interest top tier users. It will be alot harder to give relevance to these buzz words and catch phrases.

I do remember a time when DS was similarly targeted, and stigmatized as a casual mini game fest. It is now THE handheld of the generation with one of the most diverse gaming libraries of all time..What I'm getting at is I have all the belief in the world that the Wii will suffer the same fate.

I also remember a time when the NES was stigmatized in the same way Wii is now..NES is shown as the console that saved this industry and is responsible for gaming as we know it today. Perhaps Wii will be responsible for how we know gaming tomorrow.

The Wii is just as much a part of this generation as the 360 and PS3.

If the Wii isn't part of this generation, then that only furthers the argument that HD is killing gaming.

I read an interesting thread here ages ago when I was just a lurker about the implications that the Wii being last gen had. It was a really interesting read.
