@ axum: Cool, bro. I was just puzzled!

Because everyone knows a game published by MS gaming studios will NEVER appear on a competeing games console.

Ninja Gaiden II doesn't know that.

Egg on face moment.

Doesn't really change anything though :)

Well, it means that Microsoft's publishing Mass Effect doesn't necessarily prevent it from going to the PS3. It's likely all down to whether or not EA inherited some kind of obligation when they bought Bioware.

How was Spartan showing ANY desperation?

EA have stated that it will be released on the Xbox 360\PC. This thread might be a good one to have once it has been released on those platforms. We know for certain now that the PS3 version will not be released if it ever is, within a good 6-12 months of the 360\PC. EA most likely don't even know themselves. I don't know, you don't know. No rumour mongering sneek knows either.

This thread serves no purpose other than to create an illusion that a PS3 version is quite likely in the works.

There have been times when a press release like EA's one have resulted in no release for the PS3 and there have been times when a release did happen months later (a lot later).

So, what I'm saying is, this thread is complete waste of time for the purpose of discussing what the OP wants to. And it looks like it's already gone somewhere else so thats great.

To answer your question though, it is desperate because Spartan knows all the above, he's been here long enough to know how press releases work and imo he is just creating flame bate thread to antagoise a group of people and encourage another group of people to chase a rainbow. That is pretty desperate and silly.

I know he may well deny such motives and that would be exactly what the sensible person would do. But he has a history of doing this sort of thing in various ways, usually in an attempt to make peoples views of the 360 be more negative. Peddaling this stuff just keeps it going longer.

Yes true, I really should have thought that through before saying that bit. I was wrong to say that. But it is generally a good rule to follow. The lack of a release of Mass Effect on the PS3 would point to some sort of contractual tomfoolery. As you are surely aware and has been discussed many times over EA rinse everything. If a release was going to happen it would have done by now I think even the die hards accept that.

That was more of a "sub rant" lol. Main issue here is that EA have shown as far as is possible that no PS3 version is planned. I'm not saying it won't, my bone is with Spartan who is creating an uncertainty vibe. I'll zip it now that was my only quest, to expose the hoodlum.

@Baggins: I do think you're right there. If Mass Effect 2 were headed to the PS3, a port of the first game would probably have already been released or at least announced.

Mass effect was good, but nothing genre defining or a Must have. PS3 owners have plenty of games to keep us occupied anyway. If it comes to PS3, then cool, but im not too fussed either way :)

@ bad

Remember Dead Rising 2, Saints Row 2? PS3 will either recieve or is recieving those. Mass Effect 2 could still be released for the system regardless of the first.

Hell Devil May Cry 4 was released on the 360, the fourth installment.

I'd not rule it out, but it doesn't look likely at this point. And since Bioware's doing a tremendous amount of extra work to incorporate functionality for ME1 save games, Mass Effect 2 for the PS3 would seem pretty gimped unless they also port the first game. So I don't think it's exactly the same as those other franchises.

What an inmature response either contribute to the thread or dont post. Kids these days!

In all honesty I'm all for a PS3 release of the whole series. I loved the 1st one and if it were released on as well as the 2nd it would improve the chances for a 3rd to some extent as it's an almost guranteed money earner. I suspect some reason for the lack of release on the PS3 of the 1st is the lazyness of EA in terms of porting UE3 games.

I mean if you look at Red Alert 3 for example (although not an UE3 but a similar porting issue) it made it to the PS3 eventually but the publishing thing wasn't a problem there.

It would be nice for them to be straight about it all but that's not the way business works unfortunately.
