Forums - Nintendo - Home come Nintendo hasn't released a Pokemon MMO for Wii?

Isn't it obvious to Nintendo that they can make gazillions if they made a proper MMO using one of the most popular brand in the world?

Sometimes I just don't understand Nintendo.

A pokemon mmorpg would be great. I would get it even if there was a monthly charge.

Not a 360 fanboy, just a PS3 fanboy hater that likes putting them in their place ^.^

I wonder about it as well.
However, console pokemon have never done nearly as well as the handheld version.
still, it would be a great money sink, and a good reason for a lot of people to buy a wii.

If Nintendo ever considered for this, it would be for next gen. Online isn't great on the Wii.

Because they don't want society as we know it to collapse.

Is it even possible on Wii?

Add me for Pokemon, New Leaf, and Fire Emblem, Mario Kart 8.

Because Satoshi Tajiri doesn't want the series to go in that direction?

Pixel Art can be fun.

Yeah lol, I would've bought a Wii just for that game and if it gets a good reception.

They have just been waiting on someone to ask them that very question.

Firstly, because Nintendo is against the concept of MMOs. They've already stated that they will have no part in the making of an MMO for any of their systems, ever.

Second, because that would effectively bring the PKMN main series to a console - something else they've specifically made clear will never, ever happen. The PKMN main series is and always will be a handheld concept, with the console games always being "side quests".
