I remember the early days of the campaign.

 was the fight against Maximilian's tank difficult for ya?

Yeah.

It took me two tries to beat it.

That fight pissed me off because I had no idea how to trigger the events. In fact, I parked the Edelweiss in its path and stopped its movement, so unbeknownst to me the fight would last forever! (Until round 20 and I would have lost. )

So I broke down and looked it up online. I mean, come on. Not even a hint in-game? Or did I miss it?

Anyway, that fight was very boring because I annihilated all the enemies and turrets, and then had to WAIT for all the stuff to trigger; and then Selvaria shows up with her gang (spawning RIGHT ON TOP of my poor scout Nancy the first time around) and I annihilate them too; and then WAIT some more while Selvaria and the Edelweiss stare each other down and the stupid tank keeps going; and then FINALLY it's vulnerable and my lancers go nuts.

But I wasn't happy with the number of rounds it took sheerly because of ignorance, so I didn't save, did it again and got an A. And Nancy didn't die.

Anyway, that is one of my LEAST favorite battles.

DUN DUN DUN SPOILER ALERT

i rather liked chapter 7..once you figured out that the tank isnt as nasty as it looks.. especially once you destroyed the cannons it becomes a tame little 60 feet tall mouse covered in steel plates

just took me a while to figure out that you have to shoot the debris that has a sharp edge pointing skywards.. those go down in one shot while the others dont.. so this way the tank was destroyed one turn away from my last camp







the mission i liked the most was the one that unlocks rosies final potential..the one with the darscen hunters

you deploy the usual largo rosie ,alicia.. a sniper a engineer and the rest shocktroopers maybe a second lancer aswell

position the shocktroopers in the grass north of your camp and east in the grass near the rocks

"park" the edelweiss close to your camp or else it will be destroyed very quickly

take your lancer(s) your engineer and your sniper to the tree on the little hill in the middle of the map this makes a great spot for sniping.hide in the grass pass the turn

your shocktroopers will intercept anything that tries flank your position from the west or the east

try taking out the squad leaders with your sniper the next round

the tanks will take 2 turns to get into the range of your lancer you can sneak all the way to its radiator through the cover of the grass

by that time the other tank which is a "hero" unit should be facing west on the road and only be guarded by a shocktrooper and a engineer

since there isnt muh else to kill anymore you should have enough command points to have largo leave his cover on the eastermost grassy part of the hill without taking much interception fire

once the last tank is down the other soldiers will try to escape block the east exit with your shocktroopers aswell as the southern one near your camp

have to edelweiss move to the north eastern exit

snipe whatever is still alive and mop up the remaining lancers and snipers with your flamethrower


as for selvarias last stand.. i tried the shocktrooper rush method.. and it took me ages to get a headshot with wise... should have tried that piss easy method of sniping.. she dodges every bullet and i didnt think of smoking MY own snipers

i'm surprised a lot of people found chapter 7 so easy.. i figured everyone would've hated it

Can't it be both?

Like:  "It's easy and I hated it." 

i think if you hate chapter 7, you can't possibly like the game..
