Let's hear the tired old song of "their numbers are units shipped"  In this case that's saying there are actually CLOSE to 7 million (less) 360s in the hands of European gamers.

well europe numbers are always going to be wrong. it aint easy to get accurate number for europe.

X360 Sales on Others is highly overtracked, America too, 8.9 million of X360 in Europe? Really? 8 million SHIPPED in Europe, i'm italian but X360 is not that high in Europe and Others, PS3 and X360 include others have an head to head battle sales, VGchartz bombed this time, no excuse.

Hocarino91 - If you are from Europe, I suggest you read up on European data from GfK before attacking VGC numbers.

It's amazing that people want to complain about numbers when they're not favoring their hardware of choice :-\

Here are the numbers for Europe at the end of 2008, if your interested:

United Kingdom:

  • Xbox 360: 3,200,000
  • PS3: 1,900,000

France:

  • PS3: 1,271,000
  • X360: 1,155,000

Spain:

  • PS3: 830,000
  • X360: 500,000

Italy:

  • PS3: 560,000
  • X360: 451,000

Switzerland:

  • PS3: 160,000
  • X360: 100,000

Norway:

  • PS3: 108,129
  • X360: 75,000? (Estimate based on mummelman in the Sweden thread)

Finland:

  • PS3: 80,000
  • X360: Unknown (but probably around ~75,000)

That's just 4 markets for the 360, and we already have 5.3m of the 8.0m by EoY 2008. That doesn't include Germany, Scandinavia, Denmark, Belgium, Switzerland, Portual, and many others. I'll dig for more numbers, but with so many markets left, it can close the gap pretty easily, I think.

@mrstickball : VGchartz sales is a prediction not real date, MS says has 8 million X360's shipped in Europe, VGcharts has 8.9 million SOLD in Europe, is totally fals, and 2.5 million with others? This is impossible.

VGCHARTZ has a good intenction but wrong sales, who is the admin of this site?
