I hope they drop the format for the next PSP. Load times are not horrible, but longer than I would like and it eats up battery life. I never bought UMD movies because I'd rather watch movies on a big screen.

I bolded the key word there. And um... if you stick a cart game in your pocket? Hello, static electricty, so long game. I don't think durability in your pocket was the point. Also, the PSP has something like 5x the horsepower of the DS, which is the real battery issue with games -- the UMD is expensive, but its not a bad game format at all. Its a problem for movies. I very much doubt Sony will go the cartridge route for games anytime soon.

I carry my DS gmes around in my wallet or pocket and i've yet to have one die at all.
I've done that since i got my Gameboy Pocket back in the day.

WraithPriests PC:Oh god. Its dead. Its freakin dead. Period. No argument can prove otherwise. UMD is a failed format.

They can access the internet through wireless hotspots
It's not bad for games. It is bad for movies (well, right now at least). As long as people buy UMD games, it's not a dead format.

Not if there are kiosks in stores where the games could be downloaded from.
