There are other threads about launch dates. Is it possible to predict the prices of the next generation of gaming consoles?

I think Nintendo will stay in the US$ 250 range.That may be a safe prediction.

Will Microsoft and Sony continue to to have different specs and prices? Or will they try to emulate Nintendo having One machine with one price? Are they going to have US$ 400-500 machines? Or maybe the consoles prices are going to be below the US$ 350 mark?

Wii2 - $300
Xbox3 - $400
PS4 - $400

Well Nintendo must have seen the difference price made (not saying that was the only element of course) vs having the highest spec.

MS are commited to some form of specification jump though, they have to IMHO as the fanbase will demand that any Halo, Gears, etc title shows a big leap on a new Xbox.

Sony I just can't judge, on the one hand I can see them thinking stuff high end specs, but on the other hand I think there will be a certain expectation of a spec jump now they have linked the Playstation brand to that market.

IMO Sony should release their console for 600$ again but profit from hardware sales. If they could around 150 profit for each PS3 sold, I think they shoukd go for it.

720 300$ and 200$ Sku MS now knows the importance of a 200$ price tag.
Wii2 300$ nitendo knows that the can charge more and ppl will still pay.
Ps4 300$ and 400$ Sku

Wii2 will probably be $250-300
X720 maybe $250-350 to start
PS4 most likely $300-400

All will be slight upgrades in CPU and GPU, especially PS4, to keep the price to a minimum (and R&D)

wii2 300$ i think that they will have hd in there next console and a hard drive

xbox720 a 250 and 400$ sku

ps4 300 and 400$ i think that sony will learn from there past mistake with the ps3 and release a cheaper console

Wii 2 = 300

720 = 400

PS4 = 350-400

I have a feeling that the successor to the Wii is going to be cheaper than the Wii is, assuming the economy has recovered by then.

We'll see, though.

im pretty sure sony wont make the same mistake and will price their next console competitively from the get go.
