Crusty VGchartz old timer who sporadically returns & posts. Let's debate nebulous shit and expand our perpectives. Or whatever.

Suikoden in general, specifically II since less people have played II. I remember one of my friends didn't know they made Suikoden until I told him how much better Suikoden II was lol

"Dr. Tenma, according to you, lives are equal. That's why I live today. But you must have realised it by now...the only thing people are equal in is death"---Johann Liebert (MONSTER)

"WAR is a racket. It always has been.

It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives"---Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler

Dare I say Evolution 1&2?

FootballFan - "GT has never been bigger than Halo. Now do a comparison between the two attach ratios and watch GT get stomped by Halo. Reach will sell 5 million more than GT5. Quote me on it."

I don't know if some of these games are underrated. Certainly a few of them are under-appreciated.

One game that was bashed when it came out and continues to be bashed today despite being fairly decent is final fantasy: mystic quest. Like FF: 11, gamers never really allowed this game to stand on its own merits and it was cut down for not being a real FF title. It was shorter and more simplistic then your average RPG, but that also made it a great starting point for younger gamers who preferred to be eased into the genre.

I was a younger gamer for that game....

My first turn based RPG was FFIV, then I got FFVI

Then I got FFMQ.... I forced myself to finish it, but I never looked back to it... it just wasn't anything to the level of the others, eeven for biginers (I don't remember the story, but what a begniner RPG player needs is a game with a good story that pulls him/her into investing his time into the game. A dull experience will not motivate to try again.
