yeah, i don't know why it gets as much heat as it does. everyone i know who has played it said it was incredible. i'll be getting it next week and am really looking forward to it

I'm loving it so far, perhaps not quite as much as RE4 back in the day. One of the best games of 2009.

Bolded; I find it funny that many of those who complain about RE5 are the same folks who propose to dub RE4 the "best RE of all time" and, indeed, the majority seem to think that RE4 is in fact the best RE of all time. Why is it so bad to take the features that made RE4 superb into RE5 as well then? The old ones certainly had their flaws; repetetive gameplay, "hallway gameplay" (where devs make the game long by forcing you to run back and forth to get keys or other bits and pieces and add long straight stretches with no other intention than having you spend time running, Mass Effect is also guilty of the latter), obscene load times, extremely clunky controls, bad dialogue (mainly the first one) and rather less replay value than many other genres (of course, the spook factor of a survival/horror game wanes which lends body to this phenomenon as well).

PS: This isn't directed at you perpride, I get the feeling we're on the same page, I'm just having a hard time figuring out what all the whining is about. RE5, to me, is among the best action titles I've played in many years and has, arguably, the best co-op this gen since Gears of War (mind you, the single player experience gets butchered because of the AI).

I'm loving Resident Evil 5 so far!

I'm only half-way through, but I'm trying to discover everything in my first run so I've already played 8 hours in the single-player! I like how there's soo much to discover and to unlock! And it gives me the same addictive play-feel as RE4 did!

So yeah, this game ROCKS my SOCKS!

True its about surviving the horrors of shit controls and stupid fixed camera angles.

No way. Maybe you just aren't flexible and skilled enough to cope with the game? 

I've only played about 45 minutes of local co-op at a friend's house, but what I played was pretty entertaining. The split screen is really cool because it staggers the split so it's easier to keep track of your own screen and not get disoriented. I've said it before, but it's basically RE4 in Africa with co-op. Not exactly sure how you some of you could like RE4 enough to buy it twice and then not even give RE5 a chance. Oh well..

I am enjoying it as well. I like the traditional Resident Evils, too. I mean, liking the older ones is not a reason not to like the new ones. Sure they are different, but this is a fresh wind to the series.

Capcom should release a Resident Evil1 / 2 on XBLA and PSN and I am fine with that.

yeah i like it to would of been very good had it been just Chris only but it still a good game just stared playing it i have to finish the whole thing to C if i like it more than 4

dont get the hate i mean look at the JP 1st week numbers the PS3 version outsold RE4 on any platform so it must be a good game

the hate could be from the old school RE fans myself included that the game is nothing like the older ones its also short 12-15 hrs compared to the older ones 18-20hrs well except for RE3 but they should give it a try the gameplay beats the older REs any day

also it not scary as the older ones so that could be y some have hate and the lack of zombies isnt helping either
