@ Zones and Spartan

RE4 was much scarier than than RE5 appears to be - the co-op thing destroys the horror aspect completely. I'll admit it wasn't as scary as REmake for example, and yes, I did compain about that at the time.
RE4 still maintained many of the aspects of the earlier games - a need for ammo conservation for example
RE4 had much better graphics than RE5 for its time

RE4 had many improvements over the previous games, as well as a few things it did worse
RE5 is just worse than RE4 in all respects in my opinion, and in the opinion of many other people

Appears to be? So in other words, you haven't played RE5. You're just another one of those jealous Wii fanboys then?

RE5 in RE4 in HD with co-op. There's no way you can possibly like one and not the other.

Have you played me? I thought not, so what gives you the right to judge me? Crap, now I'm judging you without having played you...

Now, to address why I could possibly be jealous of a PS360 game. I live in student lodging, and thus I have a friend who owns a PS3 living within 10 metres of me. I can also get to a friends room and play 360 simply by going to another wing, maybe a minutes walk. Oh, I'm so jealous that you can play high definition games, too bad I will never have this joy.I might go play some LBP to deal with the stress of having to talk to you

I am not going to respond to your claim that it is impossible to like RE4 more than 5 because you can find my answer by reading my previous posts. I came into this thread to explain to the OP why some people dislike RE5, and I believe I have achieved that, so I'm out of this thread

I'm enjoying it, but I do have some gripes with it. Why is it that for split screen, the screen is split in a way that makes it sooo awkward. I know that they probably couldn't make the full screen split due to limitations, but they could have made it better than how it is. I'm a biiig fan of the old school REs and ever since 4, I knew wat I was getting myself into with 5 so I'm not disappointed (so far). I'd give it like an 8 (probably would have been higher if I had not just come from playing KZ2 before buying it).

I believe they did it to keep the aspect ratios the same. If they kept it all the way side to side, then things could look a little squashed top to bottom or at least a little off, but I felt it was a little awkward too.

split screen is just like COD 5

I'm loving this game; it's everything I hoped for. Best game this year. I do like the inventory system because it makes you feel restricted on what you carry. That's something I didn't like about Silent Hill Homecoming where you can have every weapon and have every ammo in your inventory system without having to throw one out. The inventory system being brought up in real time makes the game more intense and exciting. I also found myself in the need of ammo a lot of times. The number of enemies is ridiculous, and with the limited space in my inventory system, I had to make wise choices on what to keep or not.

It's way better than Dead Space. I don't see why Dead Space is getting a lot of praise. Didn't find it scary nor fun.

@scottie

so why did people fall in love with RE4?

RE5 is better version of RE4.

that's what i m saying,,,people loved RE4 and capcom is giving them more of RE4 in HD

Not everybody did.  Compare RE4's Japanese sales to that of RE1-3.  :P

What did you expect? It was first released on the shitty Cube and it was too late by the time they released it on teh Emotion. :p

To be honest, I didn't like Resident Evil 4 that much since it didn't feel like the previous Resident Evil games to me, and I hated it's crappy story so for me it was like a game that ruined Resident Evil franchise. However, I did like the gameplay of 4, and I appreciated the new stuff, it was a great and solid game, but I didn't like the fact that they ruined the RE story.

Now that 5 is around, I don't think the game ruins the franchise anymore. Resident Evil 5 is a continuation of Resident Evil 4, they are similar games, so if you liked RE4's gameplay, chances are you will like RE5's gameplay too.

People should know that Resident Evil re-started from 4, so it's not like the 5th one hurts the franchise more than the 4th.

And to scottie, Resident Evil 5 is the best looking Xbox 360 game, and it's almost on par with Killzone 2. The game also has the best full real-time cutscenes in all videogames. I am sure the graphical leap is as huge as RE4, if not huger.

exactly how i feel about the game.

to me

RE5 is much more fun and beautiful than Dead Space with horror cliche.

I'm not entirely surprised RE5 is receiving hate. It's to be expected. Most big games nowadays receive a barrage of hate for inexplicable reasons. I'm starting to think some people need that extra split second of attention when their comments are double checked by confused readers.

I'm at chapter 4 and so far love the game.

I got the game on Thursday. practically aint been off it Epic game filled with epic win imo. Loving the co-op and i still aint even played Mercenaires mode

iv played this game and it was not what I expected. RE isnt about finding 6 guns in the first 4 hours of playing. And RE isnt about 10+ enemies spawning wherever you go. This game is no longer survival horror, its action horror.
