The daily mail is the most xenophobic newspaper in the world. It needs a fucking reality check as the stories might as well be printed in bullshit. And one of these stories that they have as a re-occurring theme is immigration, when they have ran out of stories to push papers. It has caused an unhealthy view on immigration.
Most tabloids read a figure as 750,000 estimated as 'figure potentially over 1,000,000'

Actually, there is a difference, we don't have freedom of movement with any black-majority nations, but we do with the Polish.
In that sense, Poles have more rights to work here then any African simply because there is Government legislation put forward that says so.

why dont we let africans work here?
^ They have to get work visas and everything, whereas Polish can work via the EU. I know a few africans that are going to university in order to get a work visa for here. It's not easy.

Oh, we do, it's just much harder for them to get in, and it's got harder in the past couple of years. Mainly thanks to the media whipping up the public into a frenzy about it.
It's a tough question, we used to allow immigrants when they were from Europe, but now we don't need any immigrants so.....

^What do you mean you don't "need" immigrants? One of the best ways to expand economical output is to increase the labour force. In many developed countries, birth rates are falling, and it takes a good 20 years for a baby to be turned into a skilled labourer.
Immigration provides immediate labour, and as a country is more developed, more people are incented to move to that country, addressing both problems.
