Forums - Nintendo - Analysis: Aussie and NZ Nintendo fans are fed up, Nintendo

Yeah, I've been waiting for an American version of Mercury Meltdown Revolution forever. Europe already has it.

They have to make sure the video games don't call anyone a spazz or something.

 LOL.

It's a lot easier to translate a title from one language to another versus one language into many of them. If you could convert Europe to one standard language like the euro, then maybe you'd get your games faster. :P

Another issue in bringing a title to Europe is the difference in television standards. Especially in the older generations, it was much more difficult to get games to run at the right refresh rate to match the PAL standards.

Finally, buy more games. The market in Europe takes more effort so the returns on the investment is not as great. If games sold better, companies would be more focused on the region.

(As a post script, I've noticed a few games show up in Europe BEFORE the U.S. Also give that some thought before spouting off your mouth.)

I may be off.... but isn't Australia a completly english speaking country (well about as complete as you can get).

Why not just put them in NTSC?

Yea, Australia is sort of left out. US and Japan get a lot of attention, the now unified E.U. is starting to get a lot of attention... and then there's Australia. I actaully saw a sales chart somewhere categorize Australia together Canada, as is they are "those other English speaking counties..."

Australia?

meh at least nintendo gave australia the wii at the same time as NA.
ms and sony made us wait 6 months.

also when does paper mario come out?

paper mario comes out september 20 over here

@RolStoppable - almost everyone has had a NTSC and PAL compatible TV for at least 5 years over here

@Kasz - Yes, Australia and New Zealand are English speaking countries, which pretty much everyone speaks, besides some members of the indigenous community or from foreign countries. So pretty much the only difference from America is the fact that words like colour are spelt with a 'u'.

@People saying other consoles get delay too - I wasn't aware of this, my apologies, however, out of curiosity, do they (ms and sony) have region locking on their hardware?

The irretating thing is that those contries that actualy use english text in the game, scandinavia, UK, austrailia will have to wait because france/germany or whatever should be translated.

Buy it and pray to the gods of Sigs: Naznatips!

Well well, imaging what us PS3 owners might be feeling in UK/EU

Aren't PS3 games region free? Why not just import them. In Australia it would usually be cheaper anyhow. DVDCrave is one local importer and is great. They import for DS and 360 too (some 360 games are region free).

Yes, games are much cheaper to import (which is why I import all my DS games), and thanks for clearing up the PS3 is region free. I am quite sure that ms releases it's game quite close to each other anyways (even if it wasn't region free), so basically that just leaves Wii with delays and no plan B for importing
