Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo fans only - Are you happy with Nintendo's First Party offerings?

They've consistently topped themselves, really. Metroid Prime 3 had some problems, but its scope was masterful. Mario Galaxy was simply awe-inspiring, as was Brawl. Twilight Princess had the great scope again, Wario Land: Shake It was an instant classic. Mario Kart Wii is endlessly playable, New Super Mario Bros and Phantom Hourglass were ingenious, as was Kirby: Canvas Curse.  and only the recent drought of content (on both Wii and DS) have diminished their glory, but thats the price we pay for a few glorious, show-stopping years.

It all starts back up with Fire Emblem on DS, and later Punch-Out!! on Wii, and now they're starting to deliver the content once again.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Betrayed no. Disappointed in the last 8 months. Yes. Nintendo hasn't released a game I'm genuinely interested in (for Wii) since SSBB. Worse, the ones I am interested in - Fatal Frame 4, Disaster:DoC, Endless Ocean 2 don't even have NA release dates and might never for all we know. Well, EO2 I'm sure will, eventually. Currently the only Nintendo game I'm planning to get in '09 is Wii Sports Resort - which also has no release date. Grrr.

My son who really is or was the Nintendo fanboy. He'd love another Star Fox, Kirby, Zelda, F-Zero, Donkey Kong Country but we got squat so far on any of those. He does feel betrayed and is now a 360 fanboy instead.

Edit: But I am happy with Kirby and Fire Emblem for DS!

I'm hating NoA too, they are arguably, the worst chapter in Nintendo history. I don't have hopes of them localizing games anymore.

Fullfilled Prophecies

I'm happy with Nintendo's first party games.A good game takes a lot of time to develop so I know Nintendo right now are developing a new Pikmin 3, Zelda,Mario etc.

NO I do not feel betrayed

I'm ok with them, but last 8 months on the Wii there was nothing new besides Wii Music... and E3 was really disappointing.

Now on the DS is another story...

Everyone forgets Wario Land Shake It D:

Yes.

Zelda TP
Super Mario Galaxy
Wario Land: Shake It!
Mario Kart Wii
SSBB (I like the Subspace mode)
Metroid Prime 3
WarioWare:SM

These wonderful games alone in under 2 1/2 years are sufficient to spoil me. This is without including their Wii line and games I haven't had a chance to get to (I'm looking at you Fire Emblem!). In addition, there's other core games that I'm not really interested in but are appealing to others such as Animal Crossing. Lastly, there's the plethora of games Nintendo has released for the DS during the same time period. If anything, they're working overtime.

You have failed as a parent.

ROTFLMAO - It's true , it's so true...  Well technically my buddy bought himself a 360 expressly for SFIV (& SFIIHDT) and then needed a sparring partner so he got a 360 for my son for Christmas.   But he's currently grounded off the 360 if that counts.

Am I happy? Yes.

Do I feel betrayed? No.

Of course I want more. I always want more Nintendo gaming goodness! But they've already given so much this gen. Of course, the latter half of 2008 was really dry, but I believe they'll bring me lots more good stuff during 2009 and 2010 so I'm fine with it.
