Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo fans only - Are you happy with Nintendo's First Party offerings?

No, I have enough first party games to keep me entertained for a while. And right now all the Wii games I'm looking for a 3rd party, so I have no game shortages.

Not betrayed, but kind of ignored. I wish they could get on announcing a bit more, actually make use of their in house teams. It's been a long time since they made a big announcement, but maybe their games are still coming who knows? Their secrecy policy is what makes this all terrible. If at least they'd let people know about their future games, this wouldnt be as bad.

Fullfilled Prophecies

No way! They gave me Mario galaxy and Zelda tp.

yes

I mean no, I don't feel betrayed. dang you for making me have to read the OP.

Actually, I've bought more 1st party games in the last two years, than for any other system in it's lifetime.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy
In the past we played games. In the future we watch games. - Forest-Spirit

I have both a DS and Wii. DS is great but I need more hardcore first party titles on the Wii. Waiting for Zelda Wii, Galaxy 2, DK Wii, Kirby Wii, Kid Icarus, even a new hardcore franchise.

Why does everyone talk Wii when it comes to Nintendo
DS is the only Nintendo i need this Gen
and no i dont feel betrayed because i never purchased a Wii , Never will.

up until summer 2008 they were releasing quality after quality games, they already gave us zelda TP, SMG, MKWII, SSBB and metroid prime 3, within 18 months of wii's release, i was only disappointed with their holiday 2008 line-up, so no, i dont feel betrayed by nintendo.

Wii/Mario Kart Wii Code:2793-0686-5434

They have given us so far..

Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, Super Smash bros. Brawl, Fire Emblem, Twilight Princess.

No other first party has come close to delivering that many quality titles this generation so far, so I have no reason to complain.

Don't let the terrible third parties make you hate Nintendo.

Your question for the topic headline contradicts the question in the topic itself.

Happy, yes but that depends on how many more games they casualize, Zelda was a disapointment and SMG was too easy.

Betrayed, no. I understand why they have done what they did. Without doing it they could have dissapeared forever. Casuals saved the company and lets be honest, Wii Sports, Fit, Nintendogs, Brain Training, etc are remarkable for what they offer. New styles of games and self improvement.

Now, you mention PS360 owners feeling betrayed. Isn't that because they are either late to get a PS360, and consequently felt betrayed not neccessarily by Nintendo but by third parties, or had rejected the Gamecubes image 5 yrs ago and went PS2 long before this gen.

Lastly graphics, hmm, who's responsible for this? Nintendo, 3rd parties, consumers for not being willing to accept it?

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

No i don't feel betrayed, and i won't feel betrayed unless they casualize the next Zelda
