I see a lot of variety in games on the Wii. Maybe you are not looking hard enough.

Because motion is always better. That's why i'm typing this by performing a different waggle for each letter and punctuation sign. Uhm, no, wait, I'm using buttons... Face it: having _the option_ to use motion gestures is a plus. Using them always and everywhere is a mistake. SMG is a great game, one of my favourites. But the spin attack being a waggle instead of a button press has no justification. Sometimes when you want tight controls the button press is exactly what you need, and exactly what you should use. That's why people play SSBB and even MK:Wii with "outdated" control schemes.

I loved the waggle on galaxy, it felt really nice!
Many players appear to use motion on Kart.
Yes.

@bazmeistergen
Both things don't make motion controls better than "traditional" stick and button controls.
Had SMG come out on a console with traditional controls, say the GC, would you have played it with the nagging feeling "I love this game, but I just wish there was a gizmo to shake instead of a button press for the spin attack"? I doubt it.
On the other hand I bet anybody who played an on-rail shooter wished for a light-gun like controller, and that's where the wiimote IR pointing feature shines.
Very pathetic argument, Wii sales are better now than 2007 or 2008, in the other side there are Sony, who don´t make the sales miracle with Killzone 2, and Microsoft, the 360 now is cheap and much people brought it, making better sales than past year.
And most of the PCS360 main games are shooters, and nobody is against that.

I would not have thought that. You are right. However, I still love the motion in the game. It feels right. I think the motion controls have worked well in Godfather, Bully, Wii Sports, SSX Blur amongst others. The motion controls have added a little something to all of them I believe.
Motion controls are better for certain things.
