Had SMG come out on a console with traditional controls, say the GC, would you have played it with the nagging feeling "I love this game, but I just wish there was a gizmo to shake instead of a button press for the spin attack"? I doubt it. On the other hand I bet anybody who played an on-rail shooter wished for a light-gun like controller, and that's where the wiimote IR pointing feature shines. |
I would not have thought that. You are right. However, I still love the motion in the game. It feels right. I think the motion controls have worked well in Godfather, Bully, Wii Sports, SSX Blur amongst others. The motion controls have added a little something to all of them I believe.
Motion controls are better for certain things.
