that is the best HHH match out there, Foley really put him over

That was the precise moment that I became a Triple H fan!  Plus, his match with Austin (normal match/street fight/hell in a cell) wasn't just a match.  It was magic!!  Oh well.  Wrestlemania is on right now.  My finances aren't what they were a few months ago, so I'll be watching it on youtube tomorrow.  Enjoy it guys!!

Well, Wrestlemania is over and I'm gonna talk about it, so expect everything from here on out in my post to contain spoilers.

Ok now. Damn good show! In fact the only match I felt bored in was during the main event. I still don't get why that match finished the night. They should have put the belt around HBK's waist and let Taker take it from him. HBK vs. Undertaker was the standout as I thought it would. Those two prove what it's like to put on a fucking show, and there's nothing most of those young guys can do about it with their flips and flops. Michaels and Taker are true professionals and put on one of the greatest Wrestlemania matches ever without a doubt. Other highlights were a surprisingly good Hardys match, a surprisingly well executed triple threat for the other title, a damn funny diva battle royal, a fantastic Steamboat vs. Jericho match(Who woulda thunk Steamboat still had it in him? I thought I was watching WMIII again for a moment.) and yet another fun to watch Money in the Bank Ladder Match.

Thoughts anyone?

sadly, with funds being the issue, I could not watch mania. I have already seen the results and I'm a little surprised. Obviously I can't speak for the quality of the matches themselves, but I'm glad to hear you were impressed.

note 1:
the tag title unification match went dark. Just another sign that the wwe doesn't care about that division. They're probably going to split miz and morrison for the draft which sucks cause carlito and primo will have no one to feud with.

note 2:
cm punk won money in the bank.... again. Since he didn't get over at all as champ last time, I can't see why (unless he loses the case like kennedy did a couple years back). It's a shame with guys like Shelton, MVP, and Christian really deserving a shot at that brass ring.

I want to take a moment to talk about cm punk. So, he wins the ECW title in fall 07 and holds the title for a couple months but loses it before mania. He wins money in the bank. He wins the strap, holds it for a couple months, loses it. Wins the tag titles with kofi, holds them for a couple months, loses them. Wins the IC tile, holds it for a couple months but loses it before mania. Wins money in the bank again. They must really love this kid. I feel like he might win all 7 titles before the year is up.

note 3:
No swagger vs bourne? Why not? Do they hate the C show that much? Why (at least) wasn't this the dark match and the tag title match on the ppv?

note 4:
I went 3 for 9 with my predictions. Which is fine, I'm happy to be wrong. However, it's a shame this mania went super face crazy. Only 2 heels won matches and of those 2, jericho still took some shots after the match. So the only heel to really succeed during mania was.... matt hardy? With that being said, love jericho, glad he won.

note 5:
Santino winning the diva battle royal sounds a little.... cheap maybe? There's probably a better way to describe it. I don't mind that he's in it, love santino, but the winner? I don't know.

All my smark ranting aside, like I said, I'm glad to hear it was a good show and hope to watch it in the near future.

Yeah, it's sad about the tag titles. Obviously I can't comment anymore than you can because it was a dark match. Hopefully they eventually rebuild the division. Maybe this unification is a start.

I think WWE is so behind him because of his drug free stance, when so many other guys are failing steroid tests. Overall though, it was slightly disappointing and probably was the worst Money in the Bank of them all, but it's still a fun match to watch. I don't think Shelton is over enough to win the match, but I think Christian should have taken it.

When you see the Jericho match, I think you'll be a bit happier. Piper and Snuka were rediculously off on their spots but Steamboat put up the same great offense he did over 20 years ago. I was astonished at how polished his spots were, and he really looked like a legitimate threat to Jericho. It's probably why he outlasted the other two guys. Regarding the Rourke section, when you see it for yourself, you'll get why it was done that way. Believe it or not, Rourke is actually a lot bigger than Jericho is, and with his boxing background he looked fucking menacing once he got a rhythm going. Jericho sold a very genuine look of "what the fuck did I get myself into?" once he realized Rourke could take him.

Watch the match. You won't be disappointed Santino wins anymore. It was entirely a show to get him to win, because he is absolutely hilarious by having absolutely no offense during the match, followed by a hilarious promo post match. I really love that guy. They need to make him a more legitimate performer on top of his antics.

All my smark ranting aside, like I said, I'm glad to hear it was a good show and hope to watch it in the near future.

Glad to hear it on all counts.

On another Santino note (though I wrote about this before), the match he had against Mickie James 2 weeks ago on Raw was awesome. I hope he brought that kind of game to the mania stage.

Also, any other highlights? Surprise diva participants, surprise run ins, etc?

I don't know what kind of game he had against Mickie James on RAW, but Santino didn't have any offense in the battle royal. He literally stood in a fighting stance and bobbed in and out of people's way while getting ignored. He didn't eliminate anyone. The last two girls eliminated eachother. That was the hilarity of it all. Also the announcers purposely chose to ignore that he was in the match, so they didn't react to him until he won the damn thing. If you didn't know Santino was supposed to be in there, you might not have realized it until the last few participants yourself.

As far as surprise entrants, I don't know, because I don't know which divas were announced or not. All I can say is I'd give up my left testicle for a threeway with the Bella twins. Oh, on second thought, Victoria might have been a surprise entrant because King was surprised to see her in there and called that out.

After the Hall of Fame ceremony, Stone Cold left and came back out on a freaking jacked up four wheeler and tore ass around the ring before crashing beer cans all over ringside. It reminded me of better times. He's still the biggest face in the company. The crowd went apeshit like you wouldn't believe. I really hoped against hope that he would be somehow involved in the main event. Maybe pull a WM IX run-in like Hogan did and win the title after an Orton win.

I seriously can't believe how unworthy that main event was to headline Wrestlemania. I think Hunter is shooting his load into Vince himself to get that bullshit headlining. His style is so damn vanilla and he makes Orton look bad too. I would have preferred the triple threat be the main event just because it was well structured, humorous and a generally well done triple threat match. I notice triple threats are usually better with the addition of a big man like the Big Show against two smaller opponents. Edge can work a match like a true professional and seriously I don't get the Cena hate. Maybe it doesn't have to do with his in ring work because that man can work a match rather well.

On Raw, Santino started out the match with one hand tied behind his back. It wasn't long before Mickie tied the other hand behind his back. It was great stuff.

I feel like Cena is working really hard to pick up where the rock left off. I like his energy and his ability to work a crowd, but he panders too much and settles for too many cheap pops. Also, he does that rock thing where he has a set move list but there are certain moves he'll always botch. The rock couldn't pull off a samoan drop or the sharpshooter. Cena can't pull off a good fishermen suplex. I don't know, he has talent and the look, just not the flair.

Oh yeah I did see that match. Funny stuff. If you liked that then you're sure to love this Diva Battle Royal.

Regarding Cena, I suppose maybe that's it. Overall I liked his work ethic in the triple threat. It was much, much, much, much more improved over last year's borefest featuring him, Trips and Orton. Big Show is a sloppy wrestler but he makes for a good match story in a triple threat because there's always the point where two sworn enemies(Cena and Edge in this case) have to work together for a while and get the big man down. Maybe it's just that Edge and Cena work well together, because I felt they had great ring chemistry.

I didn't get to see Mania because 55 bucks is a bit steep for a PPV, I'll rent it, but it worries me to see what WWE is doing to the tag titles. I know Vince hates tag wrestling, but its a big part of the sport. Having Miz and Morrison fight Primo and Carlito at the last 4 PPvs isn't that great either. what happened to the days of Benjamin and Haas as Team Angle or whatever they were called, or the Hardy Boyz. Whenever a tag team is on the top of their game WWE always splits them up, and both careers stagnate (most of the time)....look what happened with the Dudley Boyz....hell they were in bad shape until they went to TNA, now they've won IWGP gold a few times.

I thought it was a good sign when the brand extension happened, and Smackdown was the "wrestling" show more than RAW, they brought back tag straps, the division titles etc....now the belts are no more than costume decorations.
