Forums - Nintendo - Nintedo to cut -scratch that- RAISE Wii Price!

haha this is what you call domination...and being extremely confident (cocky?) with your position.

By the way, it seems the Wii is still cheapest in UK even with this price increase:

200 GBP including 15% tax = $243 before tax
250 € including 20% tax = $270 before tax

Just to put things in perspective...

@Feylic: What makes consoles so special compared to other hardware?

My point is that it's perfectly justified to raise prices. It doesn't even matter if it reduces sales volume, profits matter a lot more in these times.

Nothing really, just that the OP has this in it, "The Nintendo Wii could be the first console in history that will not only have held its launch price for over two years,‭ ‬but actually increase it."

My point is that the OP clearly states that this is news worthy because it is a CONSOLE, then you go and throw in that other hardware makers have done the same thing and post a link to TVs. wtf?

Now if sony did these with the PS3 , all hell would break loose on forums. And Sony are still loosing money, But haven't yet raised the price.

@Feylic

Exactly, this is unheard of. Although I wouldn't call it preposterous! outrageous! But I'd certainly call Nintendo "greedy", after all this can only, and only affect one group in the mix : consumers.

I guess I'll say what I've said in the other four threads...

Currency changes have wiped out 40% of Nintendo's take on the Wii in the UK. Raising the price 10% still leaves the UK consumer with a 30% advantage. Stop whining and be glad you aren't paying more. You'll find more of your devalued British pesos will be required to pay for a lot of imports.

Game prices in Canada have gone up 20% in the past two months. We don't like it, but we understand why.

By "all hell would break loose" do you mean that we would see a news item and a thread every day discussing it? Because that's what we're seeing already...

A video game console is a consumer electronic device and so is a TV.

Threads discussing Nintendo or Sony ? Like I said, it would be another dig at the PS3 and Sony if this does happen.
