I think that the people who maintain that RE5 is racist (at least the intelligent ones)are decrying the primitive, stereotypical depiction of Africa/Africans in the game...not the killing of black people. Which is a pretty good point, actually.

I think the problem (that journalists can't put their finger on!) is more that this is an insensitive game, since the area in which RE5 takes place is actually a hot spot for ethnic cleansing. They'd get the same reaction if it occurred in any other hotbed of human atrocity.

Of course, if you shoot only black people in a game it's racist, but if you shoot only white people, it's perfectly fine!

Who wants to bet that the media will blame this game for every act of racism over the next decade or so?

I have friends who are African and they bought the game and were not offended by it. It is a video game for entertainment. You do not like it, do not have to play it. Why so serious?

Oh the hypocrisy. The simple fact the some people find the idea of having black antagonistic mobs of characters (in Africa no less) racist in itself is racist becuase it suggests that we can only have certain ethnic ratios for villians.
