They basically put all of their money and weight behind blu-ray. It would be suicide for them to release a ps3 without it now. If they hadn't gone for the whole "expensive" system gig, I think they'd be in a whole better standing than they're in now.

Still waiting to see that price cut though.

It's quite superfluous, but I must agree too: it was a rumour so silly that there wasn't even need for Sony to deny it. But maybe it was to a certain degree needed to avoid less technical audience could get confused or deceived.
