I think there is something odd about the phrasing of this.  Typically game compaines, especially Japanese game companies, are not this brash.  Aside from CliffyB or David Jaffe, I can't think of many people that would be quoted as saying their unnannounced game is "the greatest ____ game ever."  If we are to take it at face value, then it may be a Ninja Gaiden game and the quote is intended as a jab to Itagaki. 

If this game announcement is just for the PS3, then I would guess it is a rerelease of a game already published on the 360.  It's not surprising that Tecmo is courting Sony, they still need to publish games in Japan and the PS3 has a much larger install base than the 360.

More than likely imo, it will be the Sigma version of NGII with all the problems critics pointed out in the 360 version fixed and the cinemas updated to blu-ray quality.

I'm looking at all the hype Microsoft is giving Ninja Blade right now when Ninja Gaiden used to be the cream of the crop of Ninja game's on 360 and thinking that Tecmo probably thinks this promotion of Ninja Blade is a slap in the face, especially after what happened last year at about this time with Itagaki and most if not all of Team Ninja leaving, so that makes me feel even more sure that it has to be the PS3 version of NG II.

Straight from the mouth of Kazuo Hirai himself, the SCE current head honcho. Also how the hell can they even afford to BUY a exclusive? They're so deep in the red its not funny. Plus Sony has plenty of inhouse talent.

I am really suprise at all the love Tecmo is suddenly lavishing on Sony, it was not a year ago that they were almost exclusively MS; all their key title where coming out on the 360, this suddenly reversal almost feel like a 'revenge of the jilted lover'.

 

Tecmo HAD Tomonobu Itagaki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tomonobu_Itagaki )  , which is the biggest loud mouth in gaming industry,he hates everything Sony Related,he shuns the PSP and the PS3 to the point of stupidity , but when he left Tecmo he sued his own company (Cheap Bastard) and gave their President a bad name for not "Living up for his promises", so i think the main reason for Tecmo + Sony relation is related to this. so the better way to call it "Revenge of the backstaber"

 

You might think he's a bastard, but he was right... If you have a contract and a company refuses to pay you, then you are in your right to sue the company.
