Forums - Nintendo - I saw Nintendo Wii's in my local Wal~Mart today.

I saw three Nintendo Wii's in my local Wal~Mart today.  I don't know if that is unusual for many of you.  But this is only the second time I've ever seen Wiis in my local Wal~Mart since they were released in November of 2006 and the first time that I'd seen them there since last July.  I didn't see any copies of Madworld there.

cool.

I saw dozens of used Nintendo Wii's at my local Gamestop last week.

They're starting to be pretty common everywhere now. I haven't checked the games section of my local Wal-Mart and usually don't bother at Gamestop but I know I see them regularly at Best Buy now.

about half the stores in my area now seem to have Wiis and Wii Fit in stock all the time.

Amazon.com seems to have had stock for the last month. I think Nintendo is finally going to sort out supply/demand problem from now until next Christmas season since they are producing at ~2.4m/month.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

that image just reminded me. The last time I went to walmart (2 weeks ago) they had basically no stock of DS or Wii games, but they did have consoles in stock.

Also, the Walmarts in my area don't carry near enough games (variety or quantity), but Best Buy is loaded and has pretty dang close to every game made for Wii and DS.

Dozens you say? that would mean maybe 24-36-48-60-72 of used ones... I don't know.. I find that pretty unlikely.

I don't go to alot of places were they buy used ones but when I do I still have to see one Wii there.

OT: that's good maybe that's why the difference with theWii numbers this time of the year compared to last year is huge.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

Nintendo has been shipping a lot more lately so it's not really that uncommon anymore.

It's similar to that where I live.  Well, actually there are no stores that carry games in the town where I live.  But 30 and 45 miles to the North are a couple of college towns with Wal~Mart Super Centers.  And a Hastings' which has moved to a new location and been remodeled.  The last time I was in the Hastings after it reopened it looked better than the Barnes and Nobel and other big bookstore in the larger town still a bit farther to the North, and they have a lot of new and used games at Hastings'.

I've seen Wiis in the Hastings at its old location a couple more times than I had seen them at the Wal~Marts (which is probably three times -- that day last July I saw Wiis at both of those Wal~Marts), but I was always a bit worried about buying a Wii at the old Hastings' because on the doors of the cases where they kept the Wiis, it said "No Returns", so I thought they might have been trying to unload damaged or defective ones.
