Nintendo isn't phasing out DS Lite

Nintendo has denied reports that it's set to phase out standalone DS Lite units at retail.

The company will however be upping the number of DS Lite bundles available in the UK.

"We will be increasing the availability of DS Lite bundles with software in the UK, however solus will still continue to be listed," a Nintendo UK spokesperson told CVG. "We have chosen to do this as we have found many consumers like the convenience of buying software and hardware together and also enjoy buying them as gifts."

Nintendo moved to issue a statement on the matter after reports claimed that the standalone DS Lite's days could be numbered. Not yet they aren't.

i don't think there is any question about that, they haven't done it in Japan where most of the sales come from the DSi anyway. I don't see DSi making up more than 50% of the sales in the west though.
