I'd say you clearly don't understand the brand here. Sure, many Halo FPS players didn't bother with Halo Wars as it was an RTS - otherwise it would have seen Halo level sales. But on the other hand its sales are just too high for an RTS on a console - i.e. a reasonable percentage of the Halo fanbase did buy it to get the story and give it a try. Neither HD console has shown an install base that buys into an RTS to the tune of Halo Wars sales - the fanbase must have driven the sales higher. Like CGI I'm glad though as its good to see an RTS sell well on a console, let's hope we see subsequent RTS sell okay also (although I think that's still in doubt TBH) I don't know why people are acting so shirty like its a criticism to point to the link. People buy Halo books, action figures, etc. due to the series' popularity, of course a reasonable percentage of that fanbase will buy other Halo Universe expansions, it's a given and nothing to be upset about or deny. You really think that in US, where 360 owns the shooter market on console, where Halo is the top franchise, such big sales for a Halo branded RTS had nothing to do with the branding? Sorry, but the sales had a great deal to do with the branding, as anyone with and experince of growing and extending brands would know - as in fact MS know, which is why they paid for the game's development in the first place.

Unlike others, imho, M$ isn't doing enough with the Halo IP...screw it, and screw the critics who say Halo is pimping the Halo IP...WTF...what is an IP, if you don't develop it. Pimping an IP is mis-using it to put out crap, not to deliver 3 of the best FPS and a very solid performer in the RTS realm. Personally, I'd like to see M$ get off their arse and fund the pre-production cost for the Halo movie, and get a RPG in the world of Halo. Given the purchase of Bioware by EA...the Mass Effect is under serious threat of going multi-plat, so M$ had better get to steppin on locking in a Grade AAA RPG exclusivve franchise. Halo is easily an excellent choice, imho.
